Santa baby! Music maestro Mark Ronson pops out with new child – but why is he in Father Christmas’s trousers?

No, it’s not Father Christmas on his day off… whatever the trousers might suggest.

These pictures show a different father – music mogul Mark Ronson – out for a stroll in New York with his newborn baby, while showing off his bright red strides with huge white turn-ups.

The images come five months after the London-born producer and record executive revealed that he and his wife Grace Gummer, the 36-year-old daughter of acting legend Meryl Streep, were expecting their first child.

An onlooker said: ‘Mark and Grace looked to be quite exhausted as most new parents are. But they managed to take a long walk in New York on what was a beautiful sunny day.

‘They were very protective, checking in on the baby every few seconds. Mark wrapped the infant under his jacket for warmth and looked every bit the smitten father.’

Ronson married Grace, an actress who had a regular role in US drama Mr Robot, in an intimate ceremony in August 2021 after dating for a year.

Before announcing they were expecting, the Uptown Funk DJ, 47, spoke of his desire to become a father, saying: ‘I realised I do want a family. I need to do the things that are going to get me there.

‘I think I could keep going and trying to be Peter Pan but I would rather come home at 8pm to someone I love and let someone else do the partying from now on.’
