MAFS star Jesse Burford goes rogue by launching a TikTok account without permission from producers

Married At First Sight star Jesse Burford has made a TikTok account, seemingly without permission from the show’s producers.

All Married At First Sight participants are contractually required to keep off social media while the show is airing.

They also have to hand over control of their Instagram accounts to Channel Nine.Ā 

Jesse, 31, has only posted one short TikTok clip so far, but he’s already racked up more than 14,000 followers and 363,000 views.

In the TikTok video, a confused-looking Jesse glances at the camera and says, ‘Can someone teach me how to frickin’ do this?’

He then shouts: ‘Janelle! Can you come teach me how to work this TikTok thing?’Ā 

Jesse was referring to co-star Janelle Han, who is a successful TikTok creator with almost 550,000 followers.Ā

The marriage celebrant also teased in the caption: ‘Jesse TikTok coming soon.’

Fans couldn’t hold back their excitement in the comments, with one writing: ‘Is this actually Jesse’s TikTok?!’

Another commented: ‘You deserve to be loved, appreciated and valid! Rooting for you Jesse.’

This year’s MAFS cast members have so far struggled to gain enough Instagram followers to quit their day jobs, reports Yahoo Lifestyle.

The women may have signed up in the hope of becoming rich and famous on social media, but they have been left humbled by their lack of overnight success.

While previous seasons have seen brides soar to half a million followers during the show’s run, the new batch of brides haven’t attracted the same level of attention in the eight weeks since the season ten premiere.

Claire Nomarhas’ following has gone from 2,800 to 77,600, while Melinda Willis – who was already an influencer before the show – has grown her audience from 150,000 to 2016,000 followers.

Intruder bride Evelyn Ellis has doubled her fan base from 65,000 to 132,000, which is impressive but far from the heights of Martha Kalifatidis, Domenica Calarco or Ella Ding.

Other stars have had only moderate success in building their social media brands.

Bronte Schofield, for example, has garnered just 55,000 new followers, while Tahnee Cook has gained about 38,000.

Considering the fact MAFS draws up to two million viewers per episode, this growth is pretty underwhelming.
