Abbie Chatfield has called out MAFS bride Bronte Schofield for staging a storyline after discovering her husband Harrison Boon had a girlfriend outside the show.

She said the plot involving Bronte supposedly ‘discovering’ Harrison’s past seemed ‘premeditated’ in light of leaked voice notes that revealed she had prior knowledge of his other relationship and conspired with a friend to confront him about it.

‘Well, my initial reaction was “ew” to these voice notes,’ she told her co-host Rohan Edwards on Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield on Thursday.

‘I don’t like a premeditated storyline, because people accused me of that [on The Bachelor] and nothing I do is premeditated. I’m very chaotic. We all know this.’

Abbie said Bronte was trying to weave ‘a very complicated web’ by plotting with her friend Jessica Thomlinson how best to raise the issue with Harrison on their wedding day, when she should have just asked him about it at the altar.

‘A better storyline would be you rocking up and at the altar going, “So are you still dating that girl?”‘ she suggested.

‘And then you’re honest and you can say, “Oh, by the way, I’ve heard that you’re dating this girl,” rather than pre-planning a conversation off-camera.’

Abbie said if she were in Bronte's shoes, she would have tried to to subtly work out how serious Harrison's pre-show relationship was, before just jumping to the conclusion he had a 'secret girlfriend' waiting for him on the outside

‘The other part of me is like, if I heard that someone was seeing someone before they went on The Bachelor for example – I mean, I’m always seeing someone – but I’m kind of thinking, wouldn’t you just be like, “Oh he’s probably just seeing someone casually and I’ll ask him when he’s there if he’s my match,” rather than plotting this?’ she said.

‘But then I think also it makes good TV and at the end of the day, they’re there to make good TV. I don’t know.’

Bronte Schofield’s world came crashing down on her MAFS wedding day when she discovered her husband Harrison Boon was dating another woman outside the show.

Or at least that’s what it seemed.

But a series of leaked voice notes reveals Bronte, 28, actually knew all about her groom’s past weeks before filming began – and plotted with her friend to ‘put on a show’ for the cameras.

A month before her TV wedding, she exchanged voice notes with her pal Jessica Tomlinson – the same wedding guest who would later ‘expose’ Harrison at the reception – in which the two women discussed their plan of action.

The audio files show that not only did Bronte know Harrison was going to be one of the grooms on MAFS beforehand – although she didn’t know for sure she would be matched with him – but also prove she knew details about his alleged ‘girlfriend’.

She used this intel to ramp up the drama on her wedding day by arranging for Jessica, 24, to ‘break the news’ of Harrison’s other relationship to her at the couple’s reception, then acting completely blindsided in front of the cameras.

In one voice note, Jess is heard warning Bronte about Harrison’s ’21-year-old girlfriend’ – who has since been identified as Abby Miller – and Bronte responds by saying she is willing to ‘play this up like crazy’.

Abby, 21, began dating the builder, 32, shortly before he walked down the aisle with Bronte Schofield, 28, and leaked text messages suggest she was hoping to rekindle their romance once filming was over. (Pictured: Bronte and Harrison on their wedding day)

Bronte says: ‘Oh, my God, I’m actually triggered. Like, what am I supposed to do? Like, if one of the other girls gets him, oh, my God, I’m dead.’

‘[Abby is] 21? That’s f**king nine years younger than me. Eight years. I can’t do math. What the f**k?’ she adds.

An excited Bronte then says: ‘Well, you know what? If he is my match, I’m going to f**king play that to my advantage. Like, holy s**t. Oh, my God.’

‘I can’t wait! If he is my match, I’m gonna tell [my sister] Kirra to be an absolute f**ker to him. Oh, my God,’ she laughs.

Bronte then admits if she does end up getting paired with Harrison, she will ‘play this up like crazy’ and ‘confront him’ about Abby in private.

‘[I’ll] just [be] like, “By the way, like, I actually know why you’re here. Like, if you’re wanting to just, like, I guess play this on, that’s fine, but, like, we can just be friends, but for the cameras we can obviously put on a show.”

‘If I do get this guy, like, I’m not going to be able to like him because I know what he’s like.’

Bronte reacted to her leaked voice notes during an interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday.

While she confirmed it was her voice in the recordings, she insisted she didn’t know single dad Harrison was going to be her husband – and maintained her surprised reaction when she saw him at the altar was genuine.

'I can't wait! If he is my match, I'm gonna tell [my sister] Kirra to be an absolute f**ker to him. Oh, my God,' she laughs. (Bronte is pictured with her sister Kirra on her wedding day)

However, she acknowledged the info she received from friends in the group chat allowed her to ‘have the upper hand’ when Harrison’s past was discussed on their wedding day.

‘I never actually got told Harrison’s name before the wedding,’ she said.

‘When I was getting these messages from so-called friends, I thought, “If I get this guy, I can have the upper hand and know what he’s like.”

‘My face and reactions to Harrison at the altar were legit. I don’t think that’s the face of somebody who knew that information. I’m definitely not an actor.

‘On the morning of my wedding, respectfully, I’m not thinking about a conversation I had with my friend a few months ago. I’m going, “I’m marrying a freaking stranger.”‘

'[I'll] just [be] like, "By the way, like I actually know why you're here. Like, if you're wanting to just, like, I guess play this on, that's fine, but, like, we can just be friends, but for the cameras we can obviously put on a show,' Bronte says in a voice note to Jessica

This isn’t the first time Bronte has been accused of knowing who Harrison was before filming Married At First Sight.

Leaked screenshots published by Daily Mail Australia last week showed the pair matched on a dating app months before their TV wedding.

This news shocked fans of the Channel Nine show, who were under the impression the participants were unfamiliar with each other before getting married.

The duo matched on Hinge four months before filming began last year, but Bronte had no interest in pursuing Harrison at the time and even complained to a friend he ‘couldn’t take a hint’.

This flies in the face of the show’s claims the participants are ‘complete strangers’, and also suggests Bronte knew Harrison was talking to other women on dating apps in the lead-up to their wedding day.

‘Bronte sent her sister a screenshot of Harrison’s profile and messages alongside the words, “I hate guys that can’t take the hint,” a source told Daily Mail Australia.

‘They were laughing because Harrison was just talking to himself.’

An on-set source said Bronte brought up the fact they’d previously matched on Hinge on their wedding day, but Harrison told her ‘not to feel special’ because he’d sent messages to ‘hundreds’ of other women.

Last Monday’s episode saw Bronte’s ex-BFF Jessica pull her aside to let her know Harrison had been dating her friend just days before his TV wedding.

Jessica showed evidence in the form of photos, WhatsApp screenshots and even a picture of an open suitcase, which she said was Harrison’s bag he was packing the day before leaving to film MAFS.

A shocked Bronte replied: ‘You’re lying. If that’s true, that’s my worst nightmare.’

Horrified by the revelation, Bronte stormed back into the wedding and confronted her on-screen husband.

The following day, the newlyweds shared a frosty confrontation in the living room of their hotel suite after spending their first night as husband and wife sleeping in separate beds.

Harrison, who had popped out early to grab take-away coffees as a peace offering, looked apologetic as he tried to win back his wife’s affections.
