M3GAN’s model moment! Hit movie’s killer doll swaps homicide for high-fashion as she stars in Marc Jacobs campaign

Killer doll M3GAN has become the unlikely new toast of the fashion world as she modeled for Marc Jacobs‘ teen line, Heaven, this week.

The star, who shot to social media stardom with her witty one-liners and sassy dance moves in the hit film, struck a brooding pose as she modeled a gothic ensemble for the brand.

M3GAN donned a $195 God Help Me hoodie paired with $595 Margaret boots.

M3GAN sees robotics engineer Gemma (Allison Williams) create an AI prototype called ‘Model 3 Generative’ or M3GAN after gaining custody of her niece Cady, played by Violet McGraw.

The doll is meant to ‘protect Cady from harm both physical and emotional’ but things quickly take a much darker turn.

Universal’s M3gan rode a wave of strong reviews (93% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes) to a $30.2 million debut.

It opened in 3,509 theaters and posted a strong $8,606 per-screen average for its opening frame.

The thriller, directed by Gerard Johnstone from a script by Malignant writer Akela Cooper, took in an additional $14.8 million from foreign markets for a worldwide debut of just over $45 million.

A sequel – M3GAN 2.0 – has recently been announced for release in January 2025.

Stars Allison and Violet McGraw will return for the film, along with screenwriter Akela Cooper.

In the box-office hit’s much-parodied scene, M3GAN runs into robotics company boss David Lin (Ronny Chieng) in a corridor – as he looks on with bemusement, she inexplicably begins dancing, before somersaulting and grabbing a knife.

The doll’s impressive dance and other movements were performed by 12-year-old Amie Donald in her big-screen acting debut, and she received movement coaching from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power actors Jed Brophy and Luke Hawker.
