Kai Fagan left Anna-May Robey in tears during Tuesday night’s episode as he decided to cool things off and move on with original partner Tanyel Revan.
The PE teacher, 24, and Payroll assistant Anna-May, 20, decided to recouple together last week to explore their connection further.
But as the evening got underway, Kai asked Tanyel if they could chat before the pair confessed their feelings for one another, prompting him to go in for a kiss.
Mixing it up: Kai Fagan left Anna-May Robey in tears during Tuesday night’s episode as he decided to cool things off and move on with original partner Tanyel Revan
Speaking of her partner Ron, Tanyel told Kai: ‘I couldn’t imagine wanting to rip his clothes off.’
Kai responded: ‘No, I get you. That’s like me and Anna-May. I think she’s a really nice girl, I think she’s a really pretty girl, but I just don’t think there’s that there and I feel like the only girl that my head keeps spinning back to is you when I’m in the villa.’
In the beach hut, Tanyel said: ‘I’m really excited and I feel like I should give him the same respect back in a way and I’m going to give him more time, and I feel like I can be more open with him.’
Disappointed: Anna-May was moved to tears after Kai said he saw them just as friends in the villa
Sitting outside, Tanyel could then be asking Kai to give her a kiss on the cheek, prompting him to grab her face and plant his lips on hers.
The smooch left some viewers less than impressed with many taking to Twitter to express their opinion on the flourishing union.
‘KAI TRYING TO KISS TANYEL PHYSICALLY HURT TO WATCH #loveisland,’ wrote one viewer.

Meanwhile, someone else tweeted: ‘There is no spark between Tanyel and Kai – like literally nothing she’s only going with him because Ron is more into Lana. Tanyels man isn’t in the villa yet lool. She’s cruising #loveisland.’
‘I’m talking about actual couples. Tanyel and Kai are DRY together,’ wrote another audience member at home, while someone else shared: ‘Kai, a dead lighter has more of a spark than you and Tanyel.’
Another viewer shared: ‘They need to send someone in there for Tanyel QUICKLY! Before she hitches herself to this dry-lipped, stiff Kai wagon because we won’t hesitate to send them both packing pls. #loveisland.’
Honest: It came after Kai told Anna-May (pictured) he didn’t see them as a couple, saying: ‘If I’m going to be honest with myself as hard as it is, I think I do get on better with Tanyel’
While someone else wrote: ‘kai and tanyel are gonna be a TOXIC couple.’
However, enjoying the pairing, one other person wrote: ‘TANYEL AND KAI ARE ACTUALLY CUTE I MIGHT HAVE TO SHIP THEM NOW.’
And another person tweeted: ‘okay maybe i do kinda see tanyel and kai.’
It came after Kai told Anna-May he didn’t see them going further as a couple, saying: ‘If I’m going to be completely honest with myself as hard as it is, I think I do get on better with Tanyel a little bit more and there’s a bit more of a spark there.’
Anna-May added: ‘I feel like we don’t have much flirt, it’s a lot of serious chat.’
The conversation continued as Kai said: ‘I think sometimes you’ve just got to go with your gut with these things.’
Anna-May added: ‘Don’t worry I feel the same way and I feel like me and you, we get along more as friends, I do have a laugh with you and we can have fun but it’s more in a friend way.’
Romance: Kai was originally coupled up with Tanyel, who is now with Ron
The islanders currently coupled up are: Tanya and Shaq, Anna-May and Kai, Zara and Tom, Tanyel and Ron, Lana and Will and Olivia and Haris.
During Tuesday’s episode, the entire villa got hot and heavy in a sexy space challenge.
Donning revealing spacesuits to spin around the pole, the girls got the boys’ hearts racing in the eye-popping task.
The Islanders also received a text that shocked the Villa, as everyone gathered around the fire pit to hear the news.

Elsewhere, it was reported on Tuesday that Haris Namani has been dumped from the Love Island villa after footage of him punching a reveller on a night out emerged.
The ITV show has been plunged into chaos after a video surfaced on social media showing the TV salesman, 21, landing blows on another party-goer in the street.
Insiders have since told MailOnline that Haris left the villa as part of a planned eviction after a public vote and it is ‘just a coincidence that his departure came hours after the video was unearthed’.
A Love Island spokesperson added: ‘We would never comment on dumpings or show formats to avoid ruining the show for the viewers.’

In a distressing clip, taken last May in Doncaster, Haris sparred with his opponent, knocked him to the ground and shouted: ‘I’m not a bully… on my mum’s life’ while being encouraged by a friend behind the camera.
After the video emerged on picture app Snapchat, it was published by The Sun .
A friend of Haris told the publication: ‘We were all surprised when we heard Haris was going on Love Island, he’s got quite a bit of a temper on him and if someone says something he’s more than prepared to have a fight.
‘He’s got an advantage being a boxer and he knows he can cause damage because he trains four times a week, he knows what he is capable of because of his training. That kind of stuff has to stay in the ring.
Decision: It comes just hours after it was reported that Haris Namani has been dumped from the Love Island villa , after shocking footage of him punching a reveller on a night out emerged
‘I’m surprised ITV didn’t do further checks, I saw the row between him and Shaq and wasn’t surprised in the slightest. That’s the type of guy he is. What you see is what you get.’
After the video emerged, bosses initially issued a statement following reports Haris’s future involvement in the show hangs by ‘the thinnest of threads’.
A representative for Love Island said: ‘Language and behaviour in the villa is always closely monitored, and Islanders are reminded of what we consider acceptable during their time on the show.
‘Extensive duty of care protocols for all Islanders includes video training and guidance covering language and behaviour.’
An ITV source added to MailOnline that background checks are carried out before Islanders enter the show and that the video training tells them how they should conduct themselves in the villa and what is considered unacceptable behaviour.
The insider told us: ‘This training is their opportunity to learn and gain perspective from any mistakes or errors of judgement that have been made prior to going on the show.’
Boxer: On Instagram, Haris often shares snaps and videos of himself training in the boxing ring, as well as showing off his talents in his fights at Steel City Gym and friends have said he has a ‘bit of a temper’
Elsewhere, it was revealed that consolidated figures for Love Island’s opening episode have more than doubled its overnight numbers – with more than 3.4 million viewers tuning in across all devices, up 58% on the overnight audience.
1.2 million 16-34 year old’s watched the launch, which aired on January 16, making it the biggest 16-34 audience of the year.
In the first seven days of Love Island, ITVX enjoyed 65 million streams across all content which is more than double compared to the same 7 days last year.
Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
