Love Island’s Martin is DUMPED from the villa in shock recoupling – as a teary Claudia is torn away from Casey by the new bombshells
The Love Island villa was rocked during Friday evening’s episode as the islanders had a shock recoupling – following the arrival of two new bombshells.
It was the end of the road for Martin Akinola as he was dumped from the island after being the only islander not chosen during the recoupling.
With the final decision coming down to his former flame Tanya Manhenga, she decided to save rekindled beau Shaq Muhammed – leaving Martin left alone.
While it was less than ideal timing for Claudia Fogerty, who was torn away from her partner Casey O’Gorman as they were both picked by the new arrivals.
New girl Rosie had made her interest in Casey very clear earlier in the day, who, to his partner’s dismay, admitted to being keen to explore the connection.
The recoupling came after Claudia had already had an emotional day, which saw her tell Casey she was closed off to getting to know anyone else – while he admitted he wasn’t.
Following the news that he would be getting to know Rosie, who had just entered the villa, Claudia broke into tears while being comforted by the girls.
Rosie arrived to the villa alongside new boy Keanan, who had taken Samie Elishi and Jessie Wynter on dates upon entering, but also expressed interest in Claudia.
But the feelings didn’t appear reciprocated, with Claudia appearing set on Casey as she got emotional over his openness to explore.
The islanders then got a shocking text asking them to gather around the firepit, where they were then told that a recoupling would take place.
And Rosie and Keanan had first dibs as they were allowed to make their decisions before the rest of the girls chose which boy to couple up with.
Heading up first was the latter, who shared that he was keen to get to know Claudia more and recoupled with her.
Rosie then chose Casey, which left Claudia emotional as she realised the pair had been split apart by the new arrivals.
Unable to hide her disappointment, she wiped a tear from her eye while attempting to hold it together during the recoupling.
Unsurprisingly, Lana Jenkins then chose beau Ron Hall as she made a sweet speech for the Financial Advisor, who she has been going steady with for a number of weeks.
Samie and Jessie showed that Casa Amor was water under the bridge as they recoupled with their respective partners, Tom Clare and Will Young.
While Sanam appeared to be making it clear that she and Kai Fagan were heading in the right direction as she chose the P.E teacher.
Last but not least was Tanya, who was left with her two love interests, Shaq and Martin, standing in front of her.
The biomedical science student had been coupled up with Shaq from the first day of the show, before having her head turned with Martin during Casa Amor.
Despite bringing him back to the main villa, the duo quickly fizzled out as she rekindled things with Shaq – expressing her love for him during the recoupling speech as she left Martin single.
Heading home, Martin kept it real as he admitted to his fellow islanders: ‘I’m not gonna say it was the best experience but it wasn’t, it is up there in the top ones. Tanya, no hard feelings, you did nothing wrong.’
He then corrected himself by adding: ‘Well, actually, you did a couple of things that were wrong. But, it’s fine’.
