Loose Women’s Brenda Edwards has reflected on the painful death of her son Jamal aged 31 and said ‘anything that could go wrong, has done’ for her in 2022.
The TV presenter, singer and actress, 53, was left heartbroken in February with the shock of her son’s death, and has detailed other difficulties which left her year a struggle to get through.
Sharing a clip of her emotional performance on Christmas Eve of she and the Loose Women singing A Bridge Over Troubled Water which saw them win Britain Get Singing, Brenda said that singing can be ‘uplifting’ when she ‘feels weary’.

Brenda took to the stage on Christmas Eve where she and her co-stars fought off competition from Love Islanders, The Chasers, soap stars from Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
Writing to her 114,000 followers on Instagram on Christmas Day with a video of her performance, Brenda revealed she’s had a difficult year beyond losing her son suddenly in February.
Brenda said: ‘This year anything that could go wrong has done for me starting with my baby Jamal then a broken ankle and now for most of this week on the anniversary of my Mum and Dads anniversary of their passing 48 years ago…
‘I was struck down with this awful flu bug which has unfortunately meant I haven’t been able to do my shows @newwimbledontheatre.

‘But like Arnie says I’ll be back, I’m determined to come back and have really missed the Snow White gang who are all so talented.
‘Being asked to take part in Get Britain Singing was an honour as singing and music is a major part of mine and my whole families life.
‘There is so much joy to be found in singing, it is very uplifting when I feel weary and it will always provide that bridge for me to find a little peace over troubled water.
‘So grateful I got to share it with the @loosewomen @1judilove @kelle.bryan @lindarobson58 @coleen_nolan @denise_welch , thanks to all the audience who voted for us to win that was such a shock!

Panellists of the ITV daytime programme Brenda Edwards, Denise Welch, Coleen Nolan and Linda Robinson took to the stage on the Christmas Eve special to perform Simon and Garfunkel classic Bridge Over Troubled Water.
The television audience gave the group a standing ovation after they sung while viewers at home were moved to tears as they were announced as the winners.
The ladies looked glamorous as they appeared on stage, each wearing silver sequinned outfits which glistened under the bright studio lights.
They went head-to-head in the competition against groups from some of the UK’s biggest television shows, including soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street, and reality series Love Island.
But it was the Loose Women who impressed judges Will.i.am, Alesha Dixon, Jason Manford and Adam Lambert, and viewers alike.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: ‘Very emotional performance from Brenda and the ladies,, bought tears to my eyes.’
While another viewer shared: ‘I don’t know how I expected my Christmas Eve to be but it wasn’t sitting in tears watching @loosewomen singing #BritainGetSinging.’
‘What an amazing show, Corrie and Emmerdale were Amazing but the Loose Women Omg they broke me. Fabulous performance,’ posted another viewer.
