Lili Reinhart does not believe she will be asked back to the Met Gala after she slammed Kim Kardashian‘s crash diet for this year’s event.

Kim, 42, famously lost 16lbs in just three weeks in order to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ dress at the star-studded extravaganza this May.

At the time Lili said Kim’s ‘ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting’ and lambasted ‘stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies.’

Now in a new interview, Lili toldĀ WĀ with a laugh that her own Met Gala days may be over after ‘I said a certain something about a certain person in a certain dress.’

The Riverdale blonde, who also frequently airs out her political opinions on social media, declared: ‘IĀ have always wanted to stand for something.’Ā

She shared that ‘while I donā€™t like it if one comment by me turns into 17 articles in People magazine, I never overthink what I post. It has to be a true representation of how I feel. And I would say that whether I had 100 followers or 100 million.’

Lili had ‘fun’ attending the 2021 Met Gala on her birthday but said that ‘after going again this year, I donā€™t think Iā€™ll be invited back’ – though she was not in fact seen on the red carpet at this year’s event.

Kim embarked on a grueling weight loss regimen before this year’s Met Gala to fit into the dressĀ Marilyn Monroe wore to John F. Kennedy’s birthday party in 1962.

Marilyn herself had to be sewn into the gold frock, which she wore while seductively singing: ‘Happy Birthday, Mr. President,’ three months before her death.

When she borrowed the dress from Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!, Kim discovered to her horror that she could not fit her world-famous curves into it.

‘When it didnā€™t fit me I wanted to cry because it canā€™t be altered at all,’ she told VogueĀ around the time of the Met Gala in May.

‘I looked at them, and I said, give me three weeks, and I had to lose 16lbs down [to] today to be able to fit this. It was such a challenge, it was like a role. I was determined to fit into it. I donā€™t think they believed I was going to do it, but I did it.’

In order to achieve her goal she ‘would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didnā€™t starve myself, but I was so strict.’

Lili erupted at the interview, firing up her Insta Stories and posting a blistering tirade attacking Kim for the example she was setting.

‘To walk a red carpet and do an interview saying how starving you are because you havenā€™t eaten carbs in the last month ā€¦ all to fit in a f***ing dress?’ she seethed.

‘So wrong. So f***ed on 100ā€™s of levels. To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you knew very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word,’ wrote Lili.

‘The ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting,’ she went on. ‘Please stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies.’

Lili, whose film work includes Hustlers, added: ‘I am generally not an angry person but I swear to god, the toxicity of this industry sometimes really gets to me and I have to do my little Instagram-story rants to release my rage.’

Undeterred by the blowback, Kim continued to lose weight, telling the TodayĀ show in June that she was down 21lbs since before the Met Gala.

In response to the furor over her weight, the reality star said: ‘I really wanted to wear this dress. It was really important to me.’

Said she: ‘It actually taught me a lot about my lifestyle and my health and since then, afterwards, I continued to eat really healthy. I am down 21lbs now.’

Kim assured her public: ‘I’m not trying to lose any more weight but I have more energy than ever. I cut out so much sugar, a lot of junk food I was eating – I didn’t even realize it. A lot of fried foods. And I completely changed my lifestyle.’

She also denied allegations that she had damaged the Marilyn dress, noting that Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! took her side on the issue.

‘Kim Kardashian wearing the “Happy Birthday” dress has been hotly contested, but the fact remains that she did not, in any way, damage the garment in the short amount of time it was worn at the Met Gala,’ Ripley’s said.

The accusations rested largely on pictures of the affected dress that had surfaced online – but Ripley’s defended Kim by citing a 2017 report that had already noted ‘aĀ number of the seams are pulled and worn.’
