The perfect back-to-school buy: Kmart shoppers find an ‘amazing’ $15 dupe of popular designer item

Shoppers are rushing to Kmart to pick up a budget ‘dupe’ of a popular $60 water bottle. 

Mums have been raving about the retailer’s $15 double-wall insulated-cylinder water bottle which can keep drinks ice-cold for hours and is just like Frank Green’s $60 ceramic bottle. 

Posting to popular Facebook group Kmart Hacks and Décor, one New South Wales shopper said the bottle kept her ice cubes frozen for hours on end.

‘Get yourself one of these drink bottles from Kmart – $15. Put ice in at 3:30pm, and it’s still frozen now,’ she said. 

‘Hasn’t even started to melt, plus the bonus of no condensation on the outside of the bottle. Might be a good way to keep the kids drinks cold in this hot weather.’

She added she also used the bottle for water and said there hasn’t been any leakages.

Many in the comments agreed the bottle was ‘the absolute best’ and the perfect back-to-school accessory. 

‘I’ve been looking for an insulated straw drink bottle for ages that doesn’t cost and arm and a leg! It’s so good,’ one woman wrote and another said:  ‘10000 per cent confirm I use this every single day!’.

‘My kids take theirs to school. I put cold water and some ice cubes in and it’s still icy cold when they get home. Plus bonus this afternoon we went for a three hour drive straight from school to Gold Coast and it was still good. And yes. No condensation,’ a fourth wrote. 

One woman pointed out a minor flaw saying: ‘If you put room temp water in it and then put it in the fridge it doesn’t get very cold, you have to put cold water in.. but it stays cold for ages!!’.

A teacher recommended parents always opt for a double-wall, stainless steel bottles for kids as they are ‘indestructible’.  

‘I LOVE that you shared this drink bottle – it’s something that is a needed item but I feel most people buy a bottle based on the look – but keeping drinks cold trumps everything for me. Enjoy the bottle – it will last a LONG time,’ she said.
