King and Queen consort ‘applaud’ the Prince and Princess of Wales for not responding to allegations made in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series, royal expert claims

Members of the royal family have ‘applauded’ Kate and William’s decision not to respond to allegations made in Harry and Meghan’s explosive Netflix documentary, a royal expert has said.

Senior royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 40, refused to comment on the wounding remarks made in the six-episode series, the final instalment of which was released last week.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Mirror that King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla among other royals have supported the couple, saying: ‘Rather than stooping to their level, they have applauded the couple’s decision not to retaliate in any way.’

Harry alleged his older brother scared him in January 2020 while he ‘screamed and shouted’ at him in front of his father and grandmother when he tried to thrash out a deal to leave the UK.

He said: ‘It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just simply weren’t true. And my grandmother, you know, quietly sit there and take it all in.’

Harry also suggested that Meghan was ‘better’ at royal engagements than William, Kate and Charles and that people were ‘upset’ at how his wife ‘stole the limelight’.

Seward added that the family recognise the pain caused by the comments and are supporting the couple in their approach.

The allegations were followed by a show of support for the Prince and Princess of Wales as they attended Kate’s ‘Together at Christmas’ carol service on the day the final three episodes of the Netflix series were released last week.

Crowds shouted: ‘Kate and William we love you!’ as the pair entered the service at Westminster Abbey, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte walking hand-in-hand.

Numerous members of the royal family also showed up to Kate’s Christmas carol service in similar maroon-colored looks to the Princess, just days after Meghan claimed that she often wore muted colours during appearances to avoid clashing with other royal members.

The Duchess also said she was told she ‘shouldn’t be wearing the same colour as one of the other, more senior members of the family.’

‘To my understanding, you can’t ever wear the same colour as Her Majesty if there’s a group event,’ she continued.

‘You also shouldn’t be wearing the same colour as one of the other more senior members of the family.’

William and Kate have been handling the fallout from Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series alongside performing their new roles as Prince and Princess of Wales which they inherited after the Queen’s death in September.

‘Both William and Kate were thrust into full-time official royal duties while keeping their favourite causes running alongside,’ Ingrid Seward, author of Prince Philip Revealed, A Man of His Century, added.

‘Harry’s clumsy attempts to claim Diana’s legacy sit uncomfortably beside William and Kate’s grace, dignity and hard work, which has lent their new roles another dimension and they are obviously proud to carry the title that once epitomised Diana.’
