Kim Kardashian did not know Pete Davidson well before SNL kiss, first date at Beverly Hills Hotel

Kim Kardashian has finally talked about how her relationship with Pete Davidson came to be in late 2021.

During an episode of the Apple podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, she told host Amanda Hirsch that they had chatted at Met Gala in September but had not yet exchanged numbers.

And they only spent time together the day she appeared on Saturday Night Live where she felt a ‘zing’ during their ‘stage kiss’ for the Aladdin skit.

The star, 41, also shared that they had a ‘chill’ first date at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles after SNL.

As far as that date at Knott’s Berry Farm, she said she was not ready to go public with Davidson yet as they wanted to get to know each other better first.

Kim began with sharing their interaction at the Pete Gala on September 13. 

‘I knew him and even saw him at The Met. His story is that he was like, you know, had been asking around for my number a little bit and everyone, like, wasn’t really sure, like, you know, is she going through a divorce?’ said Kim.

At the time, Kim had already filed for divorce from Kanye West, with whom she has four kids. 

‘Like he just wanted to wait a little bit, but I saw him at The Met and he knew I was hosting SNL, but it wasn’t announced yet. And so I was like, he came up to me and we were talking about SNL. And I was like, they better hurry up and announce it because I will not, you know… I’m so nervous,’ added the SKIMS founder.

‘And so he just gave me good advice and he was like, “Hey, take my number. If you, if you need anything.” And I had Spanx on and I couldn’t get in my phone with the gloves. And I was like, “Oh, I have gloves. And I can’t.” He was like, alright cool. And he, like walked away, but I was going to be like, “Oh, but take my,” you know, and then, but it was like, no.’

She said they did not they did not ‘connect’ until the day she hosted SNL on October 9. 

‘He was like the one cast member that wouldn’t sign off to be filmed [for The Kardashians]. And he wasn’t there until just the day of. So I didn’t see him all week during rehearsals,’ she noted.

Host Hirsch says people think they started dating during rehearsals. 

Kim clarified they did not rehearse together before the show.

‘We met that day [on SNL]. He came and we did one dress rehearsal. We did our dress rehearsal and then the real thing. And so the whole time when I was rehearsing, it was like with a stand-in and I was like…’

The host interrupted to ask, ‘But was there an inkling of like, Hmm. Like, did you see the BDE that everyone talks about?’

Kim responded with: ‘I was like, not even focused on that. And then when we kiss, I was just like, really? But yeah, it was a stage kiss, but it was like still like a little Zing, you know? It wasn’t anything like a super crazy feeling.

‘I was just like, Hmm. And then I was like, “Wow, I really haven’t kissed anyone else in 10 years. So maybe I’m just like being stupid and it’s just nothing. And it’s just a stage kiss.” And then a few days later I was like, “Hmm, there is some BDE action. And like, how am I going to? I just got to get myself out there.”

And Kardashian said Pete did not attend the SNL after party.

‘He is too cool for school. I know… he was the only person who did not come that everyone came… Everyone was there.’

Kim said that Pete just does not go out: ‘He doesn’t really party. I was like, damn, he’s the only person that didn’t come. I thought about it after the fact.’ 

She talks BDE: And then a few days later I was like, “Hmm, there is some BDE action. And like, how am I going to? I just got to get myself out there.” And Kardashian said Pete did not attend the SNL after party

And then they ‘privately hung out.’ Kim said on their first date they did not do much: ‘We just chilled and hung out.’

She said they met up at the Beverly Hills Hotel but did not want to explain how they went from SNL to dating because it is revealed on her show, The Kardashians, which debuts April 14 on Hulu, and she wants fans to find out there.

‘I talk about it on my show. That is the one thing that I talk about. So I think I’ll get, I’ll think I’ll be that girl and you have to tune in,’ she added. 

She also talked about their date at Knott’s Berry Farm on October 29. Photos of them side by side on rides were sold making fans wonder of they were an item.

‘We had turned off the cameras. We made sure that like, those pictures wouldn’t be up. So it was pretty shady that whoever sold all those photos.’

All good: And Kim added she is so happy these days that it’s hard for her to talk about her split from Kanye West. ‘I almost don’t want to talk about the Kanye divorce because I know that it’s like less of a fun topic, but I just want to say… we have so much love for each other’; seen in 2020

Kim was seen getting close to Pete at the amusement park as they joined Kourtney and Travis. 

She said she does not know who sold the photos and was not ‘accusing anyone,’ but she is curious who sold the images because they followed her on ‘every single ride.’

But no one has claimed to be the photographer yet.  

And Kim added she is so happy these days that it’s hard for her to talk about her split from Kanye West.  

‘I almost don’t want to talk about the Kanye divorce because I know that it’s like less of a fun topic, but I just want to say… we have so much love for each other. We really do. And like we’re always family, we’re always going to have so much love and we love our kids.’
