Police officers have arrested a female employee at Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel in Nevada, ending a stand-off with another worker.

Officers were called to the scene at 9.37pm last night following reports of shots fired following a dispute between two co-workers.

As the cops arrived, several more gunshots were heard and the officers immediately began to evacuate the brothel in Carson City, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

One female employee had fired the gunshots before retreating into one of the rooms at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The police officers called backup and the Crisis Negotiations Team, SWAT team, as well as police officers and firefighters attended the scene.

After a nearly three-hour standoff, the female employee surrendered to police at 12.33 am on Tuesday and was arrested. There were no reports of injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office said anyone who has any information regarding the case is urged to contact their Investigations Division at (775) 557-5206 or email detective@lyon-county.org.

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel, which opened in 1955, is one of Nevada’s estimated 20 licensed brothels – as the state is the only place in the US where someone can legally pay for sex.

The sex workers undergo regular tests for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS and obtain required work cards from local law enforcement after passing an FBI background check.

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel was set up by Dennis Hof, who had half a dozen brothels operating in the two counties and starred in the HBO adult reality series ‘Cathouse’.

Hof, who wrote a book titled ‘The Art of the Pimp’ and dubbed himself the ‘Trump of Pahrump’, died in 2018.

Jesse Ventura, the former governor of Minnesota and retired professional wrestler, wrote in his 1999 autobiography ‘I Ain’t Got Time to Bleed’ that he visited the Moonlite Bunny Ranch Brothel in the 1970s and had sex there.

Hof was also in the limelight in 2015, when former NBA player Lamar Odom was found unconscious at Hof’s other brothel, the Love Ranch, in Crystal, Nevada, after a four-day, $75,000 stay.

Meanwhile, in 2003, a prostitute at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Lyon County accused Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil of grabbing her by the neck and throwing her against a wall.

Neil later pleaded no contest to a battery charge, but Hof claimed the woman made up the story.
