Katy Perry reveals on The Project why she thinks Australia is so ‘dangerous’ after she and fiancé Orlando Bloom spent time Down Under for work

Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom recently spent three months in Australia while he filmed footage for his new film Wizards! in north Queensland

After some nerve-wracking encounters, the pop star, 38, told Lisa Wilkinson on Thursday’s episode of The Project why she thinks Australia is so ‘dangerous’.

Appearing alongside American country music singer Thomas Rhett, who she is currently touring with, the songwriter said she and her actor partner had their fair share of run-ins with Aussie creepy crawlies.

‘I was in this place called Cairns or by Port Douglas. The first night I was there, there was a hairy spider that was like this big [she made a large circle with her fingers] that was on my bedstand,’ she said.

The I Kissed A Girl singer then explained she had to use her hoody to dispose of the arachnid, but it wasn’t the only encounter she had up north. 

‘Oh, it was wild. There was a black snake at one point. There is a whole list of just – this like mini octopus that can kill you in one little bite,’ she said.

‘Like do not think about swimming in any of those beaches there are crocs. It’s crazy. Australia is dangerous.’

Despite the close calls with nature, Katy and Orlando, 45, appeared to have a blast Down Under as the Lord of the Rings star filmed alongside Kim Kardashian’s ex Pete Davidson. 

Katy posted a slew of photos to Instagram from her trip at the time, including a snapshot of the two lovebirds sharing a kiss.

The One Of The Boys music artist wrote in the caption: ‘Daddy filmed a movie in AUS. I went down unda.’

Behind the two stars, who began dating in January 2016, was a scenic ocean background.

Missing from the post was the couple’s two-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.

The little girl is Perry’s first child, while Orlando shares son Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, eleven, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
