- Kate Moss will reportedly testify in Johnny Depp’s $100 million defamation trial after Amber Heard namedropped her last week
- Experts say that Heard’s testimony on Thursday, when she mentioned Moss, could give Depp’s team a chance to quell rumors about their relationship
- Rumors abounded at the time that Depp pushed Moss down a flight of stairs when they were dating in the 1990s
- Sources say that is not true – and Moss continues to support her ex-husband
Kate Moss will appear at Johnny Depp‘s $100million defamation trial against Amber Heard, DailyMail.com has confirmed.
As first reported by the New York Post, the British model, 48, who dated the actor from 1994, will reportedly take the stand on Wednesday after she was mentioned by the actress earlier in the case.
Heard had brought up the super model in her testimony on Thursday, saying she felt connected to Moss due to a longstanding rumor that Depp pushed her down the stairs when they were dating back in the 1990s.
But by mentioning the alleged misconduct, Heard inadvertently allowed Depp’s lawyers to call her as a witness to discuss the rumor, which sources say is not true.
Instead, they say, Moss remains supportive of her ex-husband – and after Heard mentioned Moss on Thursday, Depp’s lawyer, Benjamin Chew, could be fist bumping and smiling in celebration.

In her ongoing trial against Depp, Amber Heard namedropped Kate Moss saying she related to her and bringing up a rumor that Depp pushed her down the stairs

Heard first made the reference to Depp’s ex-wife on Thursday, when she told the jury about a March 2015 fight in which she punched Depp in the face over fears he was going to push her sister, Whitney, down the stairs.
She said she ‘instantly’ thought about the alleged Kate Moss incident at the time.
The namedropping allowed Depp’s attorneys to call Moss as a witness to discuss the allegations, with one entertainment lawyer telling Indy 100: ‘[Moss] is still allegedly friends with Johnny,’ but she was not originally allowed to testify about the incident because it wasn’t relevant.
Now, she could testify before the court in Fairfax, Virginia and clear the air about the longstanding rumor.
But Halim Dhanidina, a criminal defense attorney and former California judge, cautioned that Heard’s team could counter Moss’ testimony by explaining that the rumor was just meant to detail Heard’s ‘state of mind’ when she punched Depp all those years ago.
