And Kate Garraway has shown that she insists on keeping glamorous despite her hectic schedule as a TV journalist and radio host as she was snapped with rollers in her hair while arriving at Smooth Radio on Friday morning.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, bundled up with multiple layers in the freezing December temperatures in London with a fluffy-lined leather jacket thrown over her shoulders.

Kate wore a grey maxi-length pleated charcoal grey dress which skimmed her ankles as she walked.

On her top half she added a warm layer with her grey and white star print knitted jumper and her leather jacket over it.

She kept a brown leather cross-body bag over her to carry her essentials and she held a stack of national newspapers as she walked down the London streets to work.

Kate also carried a black roller suitcase with her to ensure she wasn’t forgetting anything she needed while working.

The 55-year-old slipped her feet into a pair of black leather silver-studded boots, which featured buckles and straps to add a touch of rock-chic to the look.

She wore a natural palette of makeup, letting her glowing skin shine, and her eyelashes fluttering.

Her warm blonde locks were kept half-up in the multicoloured rollers and half down, with the hair tool destined to provide her with plenty of volume.

She was hard to miss in the figure-hugging dress, which radiated off her light complexion was further complimented by an extravagant frill detail at the bottom.

Keeping the cold at bay, she layered a stylish long black coat over the top and paired the look with stylish studded black boots.

Pairing the elegant with the casual, she also carried her essentials in a brown leather bag slung across her chest and a small black wheelie bag.

Her blonde tresses were styled poker straight and she sported a light palette of makeup to enhance her natural beauty. 

Her outing comes after Kate won her second National Television Awards for Best Authored Documentary.

In October, she fought back tears as she thanked her husband Derek Draper and accepted the gong for her documentary, Caring For Derek.

She won the award last year for her first documentary, Finding Derek, which focused on Derek’s health battle after being hospitalised with the coronavirus.

Her win came after she had revealed that Derek had been readmitted to hospital as he continues to battle complications after contracting sepsis in August. 

Last week, an emotional Kate Garraway broke down as she discussed Derek’s health battle during an appearance on Friday’s Lorraine. 

The Good Morning host admitted that there ‘is no end point’ to his care and her new way of life can be ‘exhausting’ for those around her.

Derek is one of the UK’s longest-suffering patients of Covid after being admitted to hospital with the virus in March 2020, only returning to the family’s London home in April 2021, where he receives round-the-clock care.

She told host Lorraine Kelly: ‘And the thing is, when it’s a long battle like with Derek, there’s no end point and it can be exhausting for the people around me too’.

‘I know sometimes people say “oh she’s talking about that again” but what I’ve learnt is you only really know what it feels like when you’re in it’.

Discussing Derek’s current state of health after being rushed into hospital with sepsis, she said: ‘Oh, I mean you know, it’s a long onslaught.’

‘I can see he has better days, he has worse days. He is thankfully at home now. It’s been a long battle to get him back home again’.
