The tweet was sent by Jordan on June 22, the same day season three of the Netflix show ‘The Umbrella Academy’ was released. Netflix integrated Page’s transition into the show, changing her character’s name from Vanya to Viktor.

Twitter flagged Jordan’s tweet claiming it ‘violated the Twitter Rules on hateful conduct.

Mikhaila said her father would be off the platform until he deleted the tweet.

Conservative Political Commentator David Rubin commented on the incident on Wednesday.

‘The insanity continues at Twitter. @jordanbpeterson has been suspended for this tweet about Ellen Page. He just told me he will “never” delete the tweet. Paging @elonmusk.’

Rubin and Mikhaila called on Tesla CEO Elon Musk – who recently bid $44 billion to take the platform over in efforts to promote free speech.

Page announced his transition in an Instagram post in December 2020.

‘Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life,’ he wrote.

This isn’t the first time Jordan has come under fire for controversial tweets.

Jordan briefly quit Twitter in May after saying a plus-size Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model was ‘not beautiful.’

The cover of the magazine showed Yumi Nu, a 25-year-old curvy model, and the first Asian plus-size model to be featured in Sports Illustrated.

‘Sorry. Not beautiful.  And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that,’ Jordan wrote.

After receiving backlash, Jordan claimed he deleted Twitter from his devices while his account remained active. It was the second time he had left the platform.

Prior to leaving the platform in May, Jordan had accumulated a list of controversies dating back to 2016.
