Jamie Foxx had to be taken to a hospital after suffering an undisclosed medical emergency, his daughter Corinne Foxx revealed Wednesday.
In a statement attributed to the actor’s family that was posted to her Instagram account, they wrote that the 55-year-old actor had suffered a ‘medical complication’ that required him to be taken to the hospital.
The family also said in the statement that Foxx was now ‘on his way to recovery,’ though they didn’t reveal what medical issue he suffered.
But a source described the issue to TMZÂ in more serious terms, calling it a ‘medical emergency,’ though they said Foxx was now ‘communicating’ again.
‘We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday [Tuesday],’ the family statement began.

Sources confirmed to TMZ that Foxx’s unnamed condition was indeed serious enough to require him to go to a hospital.
Few details have been shared at the moment, and it’s unclear what symptoms the Oscar winner may have been suffering from, or what led to him being taken to the hospital.
Despite his family’s statement that his condition is improving, there’s no word yet on when he will be able to leave the hospital or get back to filming.
