  • Had been paid a small fortune prior to the fight for a tattoo on his right arm

A tattoo for which Jake Paul was paid a six-figure sum to get prior to his fight with Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night disappeared by the time he stepped into the ring.

Paul was visited by British DJ Charlie Sloth after completing his pre-fight training camp in Dubai around 10 days prior to the grudge match with Fury, which he lost on a split decision.

Sloth, who co-owns the company Au Vodka alongside Charlie Morgan, the ballboy kicked by then Chelsea winger Eden Hazard when he was at Swansea in 2013, challenged the YouTuber-turned-boxer to get a tattoo of the blue raspberry bottle on his right arm in exchange for £206,000.

Paul duly accepted the challenge and a video was posted to YouTube last week showing the two men on a rooftop in Dubai, sipping at the drink in question while a tattoo artist  Paul’s right-arm.

Having gained a fair amount of traction in the days leading up to the fight, fans were expecting to see Paul emerge into the ring with the tattoo displayed proudly.

However, eagle-eyed viewers noted the lack of ink on his right arm, leading many to speculate as to where it had gone – or whether it had been real in the first place.

‘Tommy Fury must have given one hell of a punch last night… His tattoo fell off,’ one joked on social media.

Another said ‘Imagine being hit that hard, your AU Vodka ‘tattoo’ falls off.’

A third noted the similarities between Paul’s label tattoo and what actual labels do, writing: ‘Jake Paul’s tattoo did the exact same thing the labels on their bottles do, insane attention to detail in my opinion.’

‘Jake Paul, what happened to your Au Vodka tattoo last night? It just disappeared,’ another queried.

In the video, a tattoo artist can be seen outlining the pattern onto Paul’s arm. The internet sensation then jokes he would have done it for free, owing to his affection for the former Radio 1Xtra DJ.

Paul ended up losing the bout to Fury by split decision. He appeared to disagree with the judges’ assessment of the fight and vowed he would be back to defeat Fury in the rematch.

Drinking in Saudi Arabia is strictly prohibited and the country possesses some of the most stringent laws against such.

The country prohibits the manufacturing, sale, possession and consumption of alcohol and breaking those laws is punishable by a range of measures.

In 2015, it was reported that a British man named Karl Andree, 74 at the time, had been held in prison for a year after being arrested by the Saudi religious police for being caught with homemade wine.

He was spared more than 300 lashes on account of his ill-health and age.
