Shirtless Jake Gyllenhaal is RIPPED as he flaunts his chiseled abs and slaps a former UFC fighter while filming the Road House remake
Jake Gyllenhaal flaunted his seriously ripped physique on Friday when he filmed a shirtless scene for the Road House remake.
The 42-year-old leading man – who was recently seen filming his new AppleTV series Presumed Innocent – rocked washboard abs and bulging muscles as he made his way onto a UFC stage.
Fully in character, a jacked Gyllenhaal weighed in at the podium before slapping his hulking opponent, mixed martial artist Jay Hieron, 46.
The Ambulance star flexed his jaw-dropping guns and roared for the crowd, exhibiting a hefty amount of macho angst.
Gyllenhaal is playing a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer in the Florida Keys and ‘soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise,’ the synopsis states.
Jacked Gyllenhaal: Jake Gyllenhaal, 42, flaunted his seriously ripped physique on Friday when he filmed a shirtless scene for the Road House remake
In video of the scene, Gyllenhaal’s character is announced as ‘the challenger’ as he bounds onto the stage and pulls off his sweatshirt, revealing his eye-popping body.
Sporting a full-on six pack, pronounced pecks and sculpted arms, the A-list heartthrob certainly looked the part as he stared down his opponent.
Jake met Hieron in the middle of the stage, where they engaged in some inaudible smack talk before Gyllenhaal threw a fake slap.
Taking to the mic, the Brokeback Mountain star said, ‘This fu**er just makes me laugh, cuz he’s a FU**ING JOKE! Let’s go. Just give me the belt. Just give it to me. Hand it to me.’
Hieron’s character was none too pleased, as he called Gyllenhaal’s fighter ‘a fu**ing bum’ and said, ‘I promise you that’s the one and only hit you get. I’m putting you to sleep tomorrow night.’

Updating a classic: Gyllenhaal is playing a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer in the Florida Keys and ‘soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise.’ The late Patrick Swayze starred in the original hit 1989 film (pictured right)
In an interview with Good Morning America last year, Gyllenhaal spoke about the remake and the late Patrick Swayze, who starred in the original hit 1989 film.
‘They’re big shoes to fill,’ he said, ‘but Patrick was a friend when he was here. We made a movie when I was pretty young called Donnie Darko together.’
Gyllenhaal was 21 years old at the time when he was filming the 2001 sci-fi fantasy film with Swayze: ‘He was always so loving and lovely to me.
‘I take that all to heart in playing the role and there are some things I take from him, but generally we made a whole new movie and I’m really excited about it.’
