I’m A Celebrity: Matt Hancock and Owen get covered CUSTARD while their co-stars CHEAT during trial

Saturday night’s I’m A Celebrity saw Matt Hancock and Owen Warner covered in the likes of feathers, brown sauce and custard as they took part in the latest trial, Who Wants To Look Silly On Air.

The MP, 44, and the Hollyoaks star, 23, were put through their paces as a whole manner of messy substances were dropped on their heads as they answered questions to win stars in the jungle’s version of classic quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

However, during the task, their fellow campmates – who headed to the trial clearing to watch the action – were reprimanded by hosts Ant and Dec for cheating on a question.

After being voted to do every single trial since his arrival in the jungle earlier this week, disgraced former Health Secretary Matt joked it was ‘the most predictable outcome’ as his name was read out alongside Owen’s.

He then added: ‘It’s called looking silly on air, it will be me then!’

While Owen declared in the Bush Telegraph: ‘This right here, you’re looking at the dream team.’

Arriving for their challenge, Ant McPartlin explained to them: ‘This is the jungle’s version of the legendary TV show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Oh dear! However, during the task, their fellow campmates – who headed to the trial clearing to watch the action – were reprimanded by hosts Ant and Dec for cheating on a question

‘Now I’m afraid for you two, there’s no cash up for grabs today. But there are 11 stars. We’re going to ask you six multiple choice questions. 

‘You’ve got 60 seconds to give us your final answer each time. The first question is worth one star, the rest of the questions from then on in are worth two stars each. Every star you win is worth a meal for camp.

‘As with the real show the audience are not allowed to help until you’re called upon.’ 

Declan Donnelly then added: ‘You do have some lifelines… [including] Ask The Hosts.’

And after clocking the politician’s expression, he laughed: ‘Don’t look so horrified Matt’, with Ant quick to quip: ‘I wouldn’t necessarily rush to use that one!’

The trial started off well for Matt and Owen, who with after asking hosts Ant and Dec for help, correctly answered Gary Oldman when asked: ‘In the Harry Potter movies who played Sirius Black?’

Though the two were also doused in brown sauce while they deliberated their answer. 

Things then went downhill from there as when using their ‘Ask The Audience’ option, their fellow campmates failed to help them win stars after failing to guess which Australian city the Hemsworth brothers were born in.

Next up, as the duo were attempting to figure out who hadn’t won a Sports Personality Award, Owen began veering towards Michael Owen. 

But the campmates then started to cough and make noises, with Ant and Dec rapidly halting the trial.

Not cool! Reprimanding their shady actions, Dec said: ‘We’re going to stop there as there was some audience cheating then… so we’re going to have to take your answer of C Michael Owen’

Told off: Responding to the groans of the unhappy audience, he snapped: ‘It was your final answer as you all coughed! That was the rules guys!’ before revealing that the answer was in fact incorrect

But despite their best efforts, Owen wasn’t pleased with his performance as he moaned: ‘I’m not happy man, I’m covered in all sorts and we’ve only got 5 stars… he [Matt] was doing well until you got me on his team.’

He later reflected on the trial in the Bush Telegraph, with the actor – who has baffled campmates with his jungle gaffes – feeling dejected.

Owen said: ‘I’m feeling very disappointed, very deflated. I’m not the smartest geezer about, which is probably why I got put to do that.

‘I feel a bit awful… I feel really tight that I’ve let the campmates down a little bit.’

Elsewhere on the show,  Boy George told how his father expected him to get ‘beat up’ for his fashion choices.

The singer, 61, described how his father Jeremiah attempted to reveal he was gay to his siblings in his younger years but he was stumped as his brothers told their parent they already knew of his sexuality.

Pop star George said: ‘My mum would say [to my dad], “Look at what’s he’s wearing” and my dad used to get his paper [and drop it down to look] and go, “If he wants to get beat up let him go out” and that was it you know?’

His campmate, Loose Women anchor and ITV newsreader Charlene White, 42, asked: ‘Was it a surprise to anybody when you were dating boys?’

Shock: Elsewhere on the show, Boy George told how his father expected him to get ‘beat up’ for his fashion choices.

Boy George said: ‘No. My dad used to do this thing in the car, he’d turn down the music when he was going to make an announcement. 

‘My brothers were all going to work, he was like radio down, he goes, “I need to tell you about your brother”. They said, “We know, turn the music up.”‘

Meanwhile, the performer discussed how Culture Club got its name before saying he threatened to walk away from the band if Karma Chameleon was not included on their record.

The song was featured on the group’s 1983 album Colour by Numbers and it became their second single to reach the top of the charts after their 1982 hit Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.

Karma Chameleon remained at number one for six weeks and became the UK’s biggest-selling single of the year. It also spent three weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in early 1984.

Speaking of his bandmates Roy Hay, Jon Moss and Mikey Craig, George said: ‘Karma Chameleon they hated. They hated it. 

‘They were like, “It’s the final nail in our coffin, it’s rubbish” and I had to fight to get it onto the record. 

‘I had to say, “If you don’t put it on the record, I’m leaving the band.” I did that every week though. I was the queen “stormer outer”. 

‘Every time I didn’t get my way I was like, “I’m leaving!”‘

Elsewhere, George – who took part in the infamous, gruesome eating Bushtucker Trial on Friday – revealed how the band decided on their name, revealing they had been through a for other options before settling on Culture Club. 

He explained: ‘We were called Caravan Club, we were called Can’t Wait Club and then were like, “We’re a Culture Club, look at us. You’re Jewish, I’m Irish, you’re Jamaican, Roy’s an Anglosaxon!”‘

Elsewhere on Saturday, Owen Warner‘s washboard abs caught the attention of fellow campmate Seann Walsh who got all the details of Owen’s gym routine after asking the Hollyoaks star, ‘What do I have to do to look like you?!’

Comedian Seann, 36, heard all about how Owen, 23, gets his toned physique through training six times a week and making friends with strangers at the gym.

Sat around camp, Seann asked Owen: ‘What do I have to do to look like you?’, with Charlene responding: ‘Six meals a day…’, while Babatúndé added: ‘Stir fry…’ 

Seann laughed: ‘I can do that bit!’, while Owen asked: ‘Do you train? Train like six times a week.’

Gym knowledge: Elsewhere on Saturday, Owen Warner ‘s washboard abs caught the attention of fellow campmate Seann Walsh who got all the details of Owen’s gym routine after asking the Hollyoaks star, ‘What do I have to do to look like you?!’

Charlene joked to Seann, warning him of setting expectations: ‘He’s also about 10 years younger than you.’

Saying he feels lucky that he loves the gym, Owen said: ‘Just jump on,’ much to Seann’s confusion.

Seann asked: ‘Jump on?’ to which Owen explained: ‘Someone asks me how long I’ve got left, I say, “Jump on.” Jump on with me.’

Seann asked: ‘With a stranger?’ as Owen said: ‘Yeah – working out with strangers is the best. The amount of mates I’ve made in the gym just from jumping on… have a five to ten minute chat and next thing you know I’m best mates with the geezer.’

Charlene said to Seann: ‘You need to be more friendly.’

Twerk it! Owen told Seann to imagine he was twerking as he tutored him on the safest way to lift weights in the gym

Owen asked: ‘Sean, how would you feel, say you’re in a gym doing a little workout and you’re doing an exercise but you’re doing it wrong and I came up and was like, “Here’s how you do that properly” would you be like, “Do one you b***end?”‘

The comedian admitted: ‘That would mortify me.’

He then attempted to show his deadlift technique – but Owen corrected him: ‘No, no, no… imagine you’re about to twerk.’

Seann quipped: ‘Jump on! That’s going to help the bowels.’
