Channing was the first long-term boyfriend of the former Olympic swimming champion after Thorpe came out as gay.

The pair were in an on-again, off-again relationship for four years until they split for good in 2019.

Channing tragically died on Sunday while holidaying with family on the Indonesian resort island of Bali.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal a medical team was called to the luxurious Tagoo villas in Kuta on the night of May 6, where they found Channing ‘conscious but extremely weak’.

A medical team from Canggu Clinic stabilised Channing inside the villa compound before rushing him to the BIMC Hospital in Kuta.

Channing spent two days in the hospital’s intensive care unit where a medical source revealed he was suffering from what appeared to be an ‘allergic reaction to medication’.

However, his exact cause of death is not clear.

Channing died on May 8 with his family by his hospital bedside.

Kuta police told Daily Mail Australia they had no report of Channing’s death and were not investigating it, but that was not uncommon given he died in hospital.

The death was not considered suspicious, police said.
