‘I know what a great mom I am’: Jessie James Decker pushes back after she was mom-shamed over photo of her kids’ abs

Jessie James Decker is headed into the New Year with no plans to change her parenting style.

The country crooner, 34, was mom shamed back in November after she posted  photos of her kids in their swimsuits while vacationing in Mexico. Some social media users called into question how her kids abs had so much definition, and wondered if she’d used a filter to make them seem so buff.

In a new interview with Fox News digital, the I Still Love You singer said she and her husband, former NFL player Eric Decker, 35, ‘tune out’ the criticism: ‘I know what a great mom I am, and I know my truth.’

‘I don’t know that I ever think too deep into it. It comes with the territory,’ she explained. ‘But I feel like I know what a great mom I am, and I know my truth. So, it doesn’t bother me.’

‘We tune out the noise, and we’re proud of them.’

Back when the online controversy began, the Flip My Hair artist explained that her kids were flexing for fun in the photo, but the ability to do so was the result of genetics and ‘elite’ training.

At the time, the Kittenish clothing designer explained that Vivianne, eight, practices ‘elite’ competitive gymnastics, Eric, Jr, seven, plays flag football, and Forrest, four, spends hours dancing his heart out.’

‘Let’s not pick and choose what we normalize regarding bodies and be accepting of all people and children.’ she pleaded.

‘If we wanna do “better” then do better,’ she admonished. ‘I’m proud of my children and encourage them to live their dreams. So we’ll see y’all at the 2032 Olympics, and wearing Bubbys jersey in the stands and dancing at Forrests rock concert.’

Jessie has plans to spend her New Year’s Eve on TV as part of ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

She’ll be announcing the First Powerball Millionaire of the Year. It will be her fourth year handing out the prize.

‘I get to give the best news for the top of the year every time. I can’t believe I get to tell someone they won $1,000,000 and change their lives.’
