A Woolworths shopper has shared how she saves money on her grocery bill every month and boosts her rewards points.
The mum-of-two from Sydney signed up to the Everyday Extra and now receives a variety of additional perks.Â
While the membership costs either $59 yearly or $7 monthly, the customer says it ‘pays for itself’.Â
‘Woolworths Everyday Extra is the biggest budget saver I have ever found!’ the mum wrote on Facebook.
This month a mum-of-two from Sydney saved $37.27 on her grocery bill by signing up to the Woolworths Everyday Extra benefits program
An image shared on Facebook revealed the mum spent $289.50 on 77 items and saved a total of $37.27.Â
‘The membership well and truly pays for itself and all the extra bonus points helps with my “bank for Christmas”, which I use to pay for all gifts and food at Christmas time!’ the mum wrote.Â
By signing up members receive triple the amount of Woolworths points on every shop as well as 10 per cent off one shop each month and one free item a month.Â
But the free item received is chosen by the supermarket and not the customer.Â
Members will also receive 10 per cent off one shop each month at Big W when purchasing items online or in store.Â
By paying for the membership yearly, shoppers will save $25. Â

Customers will also receive $10 off a future shop or 1000 Qantas Points for every 2000 Everyday Rewards points collected – the same perk as the free version.Â
Both the free and paid memberships can be cancelled anytime.Â
In the comments, some questioned if the perks will mostly benefit families rather than couples or singles.Â
‘I use it on my monthly big shop. So the shop where I buy the cat food, dog food, washing powder, toilet paper and month worth of meat. Sometimes I save $50!’ the mum wrote. Â
One woman speculated to make it worthwhile couples would need to spend around $200 on a fortnightly shop to save $20.Â
Another woman said: ‘IÂ shop for only person but it still gives me benefits because of the boosters and their gift card extra points which you can either save for Christmas or convert to Qantas points.’
‘I find it’s good. I only do little shops and my points add up quickly. Especially if you see what you have boosted to get extra points,’ a third said.
Someone else pointed out that 10 per cent of $100 alone is $10 – which is more than the monthly fee for the membership – so shoppers can make their money back swiftly.Â
Customers can sign up via the Woolworths website.
