A personal trainer has shared a glimpse of what she eats in a day to grow her glutes and maintain a tiny waist.

Jenna de Leó, who lives in Los Angeles, said there’s two key factors when it comes to sculpting the perfect physique – a protein-rich diet and a caloric surplus.

In a video shared on Instagram the 31-year-old shared her ‘day on a plate’ – which didn’t exclude snacks and an evening dessert.

Jenna has competed in the IFBB (International Federation of Body Builders) Professional Bikini Competition and won three times.

‘Protein is directly correlated with muscle growth – and after all, your glutes are muscles,’ Jenna wrote on Instagram.

‘On the other hand, a caloric surplus of nutritiously dense foods will allow the food you eat to be converted to good mass!’

Eating in a surplus to gain body mass means you need to consume more calories than your body burns.

When she first started her fitness journey Jenna said growing her glutes was a 'huge priority', but she thought it was impossible. 'The truth is everyone has the same three glute muscles; therefore, everyone can grow that booty,' she wrote on Instagram

For lunch she enjoyed roast chicken with potatoes and a salad, then wagyu beef strips for an afternoon snack.

To cleanse her palette and bump up her daily calorie intake she ate a bowel of green grapes and sliced mango.

Then for dinner she prepared grilled salmon with zucchini and roasted pumpkin.

Jenna also didn’t cut out dessert at the end of the day and enjoyed a small tub of dairy free raspberry sorbet.

‘Bad genetics is a BAD excuse.’

By consistently dieting the right way combined with lifting weights, Jenna says anyone can sculpt their body.

To teach others how to reach their own fitness goals, Jenna created the Reset app full of workouts to follow.

What is a caloric surplus?

A caloric surplus is when the number of calories that we consume is higher than the number of calories we burn

In a caloric surplus, our body mass increases

If you are looking to increase your weight or muscle mass, this is when you will require a caloric surplus and will need to eat a higher amount of calories than your body buns
