Lea Michele updated her fans on the status of her two-year-old’s health on Saturday via her Instagram stories after he was hospitalized earlier this week.

The Glee alum, 36, who announced on Wednesday that her son Ever was in the hospital due to a ‘scary health issue,’ opened up to her fans as she sat backstage in her dressing room ahead of her Broadway performance in Funny Girl.

The star had missed shows to focus on her family, but stated on Friday that she would return to her leading role as Fanny Brice over the weekend.

As she was dressed in costume, the singer uploaded a video and began with, ‘Hi everyone. I’m saying a quick hello from my dressing room here. I’m back at Funny Girl tonight.’

The mother of one continued, ‘I’m really happy to be back. It’s been a really long week and we’re still not out of the woods completely with our son, but he’s headed in a good direction and we’re really really grateful.’

After giving an update on her son’s health, Lea then opened up about her own status to her fans. ‘I’m happy to be back here. I have a cold I think from not sleeping at all this past week. But I’m really happy to be back with my Funny Girl family.’

‘I’m so sorry but unfortunately I will be out of @Funnygirlbwy today. We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for,’ she wrote in a caption above the picture.

Although she did disclose the health issue, the actress added, ‘I’m so sorry. Please send us some love and strength.’

Lea has opened up about her son in the past, and recently told People last year in September that she would fully support Ever following in her footsteps if performing was his passion.

‘I would be supportive of whatever he wanted to do that brought him joy and made him happy,’ she expressed.

‘Would I like him to go to college and maybe get a degree? Yeah, definitely. But I’d fully support him,’ Michele added to the outlet at the time.
