The 45-year-old said: ‘I was travelling home from there to Bishops Stortford, using the M25/M11 as I do every day.

‘I started to slow down when I approached a van in front of me, who was behind the lorry in question.Ā

It was said that the lorry clipped the safety barrier on the right-hand side of the road before sliding across both lanes of the M11 and crashing into the central reservation.

The clip shows the Nuttall van stuck on its side, surrounded by debris from the accident.

The driver added: ‘The driver was ok. A few cuts and bruises and shaken up, but he was ok.’

However the RAC denied this and claimed that their driver did stop at the scene.Ā Ā Ā Ā

An RAC spokesperson said: ‘When the incident happened our patrol was following an RAC member with a new-born baby, having dealt with their breakdown.Ā

‘He correctly stopped on the hard shoulder to see if he could help, but would have been putting his own life at risk if heā€™d tried to cross several lanes of motorway traffic. He didnā€™t leave until the police arrived on scene very soon afterwards.’
