Gwen Stefani feels like her incredible career – which has included hit songs with No Doubt as well as solo tunes, and her role on The Voice – is all because of luck and not necessarily her brains.

The 53-year-old beauty told WSJ. Magazine on Monday that she doesn’t think she is that smart, adding she barely finished high school. ‘I’m just not a business person. I grew up barely making it through high school. Everything I’ve done has been so much luck,’ she remarked.

But now she believes she is savvy enough to launch her own makeup line, GXVE Beauty.

Too hard on herself! Gwen Stefani feels like her incredible career – which has included hit songs with No Doubt as well as solo tunes, and her role on The Voice – is all because of luck and not necessarily her brains

Gwen was born in Fullerton, California and grew up in Anaheim.

The star graduated from Loara High School in 1987 then attended Fullerton College, before transferring to California State University, Fullerton.

Stefani then recounted her great luck.

‘I’ve gotten to dabble in so many different things, whether it be songwriting or designing fashion with L.A.M.B. and then Harajuku,’ began the blonde bombshell.

‘This is different because it’s starting a business—those were licenses,’ the Don’t Speak singer clarified.

That is when she said, ‘I’m just not a business person. I grew up barely making it through high school.

‘Everything I’ve done has been so much luck. With this, I feel almost like I’m smart enough to be able to do this now.’

She also said she doesn’t rule out a No Doubt reunion tour.

‘Anything can happen. I have no idea what’s going to happen with No Doubt. We haven’t really talked about doing anything, but it feels like everyone is, right? All the ’90s people—Blink-182 did an eight-month tour that sold out in like five minutes,’ she noted.

Also in the wide-ranging article she said that she and Blake have made fun of their tabloid image with a room in their Oklahoma home.

‘When we built our house last year in Oklahoma, one of the bathrooms going out to the pool is every single tabloid cover, made into wallpaper. You go in there and you’re like, “Oh my God.” It’s pretty funny,’ she told writer Lane Florsheim.

Stefani and Shelton met as coaches on The Voice in 2014.

She has children Kingston, 16; Zuma, 14; and Apollo, eight, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

Stefani also said that being a mom keeps her plenty busy. ‘I usually wake up at 7 a.m., because I have the kids. They go to school, so it’s the whole, “Come on, let’s go! Let’s brush your teeth!” Nobody likes Monday morning,’ said Gwen.

And she brought up her favorite holiday traditions.

‘Blake likes to make new traditions every year. We do this thing called a timpano dome, which is an Italian dome, it’s kind of like a lasagna within a pizza. We’ve been doing that ever since I met him. It was in a famous movie [Big Night]. You can put anything in it.’

Now she is preparing for her New Year’s Eve performances in Las Vegas.
