Seven people are rushed to hospital after six car horror pile-up on major highway
A horror smash involving a truck and five cars has seen eight people rushed to hospital and one of Sydney‘s major highways closed.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of a collision at Wentworth Falls on the Great Western Highway at 1.05pm on Wednesday.
Several people were trapped in their cars by the crash and had to wait to be freed by emergency services.
Ten people were injured and treated on the highway by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The Great Western Highway was closed meaning nobody could get in or out of the Blue Mountains.
One eastbound lane was re-opened about 4pm, but motorists headed west still could not move past the accident scene.
Drivers have been warned to expect major delays in the area.
