A mum living on one of the Gold Coast swankiest streets has called for public help in identifying a serial ‘spitter’.
The woman, who resides on on the upmarket Monaco Street in Broadbeach Waters, posted a video and photos to a Facebook community group in a bid to catch the alleged spitter.
The video shows a male, lycra-clad cyclist riding past her car and and leaning in to spit on it.
She claims the mystery man does the vile act almost daily and targets her car only.

‘He has been spitting on our car every time he rides past in the morning on Monaco Street for the past 10 months and we have no idea why,’ she wrote.
‘It is a disgusting thing to do, especially when I have to wash it off before I take my two young kids to school to make sure they don’t touch his spit.
‘As we now have a lot of video footage, we have referred it to the police as it has now become harassment and damage to personal property.
‘Please help us to try and stop this disgusting and coward(ly) behaviour.’
In some cases in Queensland, spitting can be considered common assault as long as the victim had reason to fear for their safety and the act was done with the intention of intimidating them.
Spitting can also be considered a public order offence, particularly if it takes place near a school or other specified location.
For spitting to be considered a crime, it generally has to be done in an aggressive manner and be directed at a person or property.

A spokesman for Broadbeach Police said he was unaware if the case was under investigation.
‘However it could be,’ he said.
One nearby resident who commented on the woman’s post suggested the cyclist may have a vendetta against her.
‘You probably unknowingly had a near miss with him at some stage, still doesn’t excuse the behaviour though. We all make mistakes,’ he said.

Many others labelled the act ‘gross’ and ‘disgusting’.
‘What is wrong with people?’ another woman commented.
Monaco Street, located on the Nerang River just south of Surfers Paradise, is considered one of the poshest streets on the Gold Coast and is dotted with a string of luxury mega-mansions.
A new purchase record was set in the area back in 2021 when a home sold for $14.5million.
