A ghost hunter claims to have spotted a ‘little girl’ lurking in a supposedly haunted home – which was previously used as the set of horror movie A Savannah Haunting.
Released in April 2021, the movie tells the story of a family who loses their young daughter in a tragic drowning incident and moves to Savannah.
But, as it turns out, the real life story behind the movie might be even more sinister than the on-screen tale – at least according to ghost hunter and TikToker Kalani, who was left stunned by what he believes is the spirit of a young child that is ‘haunting’ the Savannah, Georgia property.

In a viral video, he recorded the moment he saw a ‘side profile of a little girl’
The movie was filmed in the haunted house where movie director William Mark McCullough grew up
Following the completion of the movie, Kalani says he was hired to investigate the premises, and brought his wife along for the four-day-long experience camped out in the allegedly haunted house.
As soon as the ghost hunter stepped foot in the five-bedroom home, he immediately felt uneasy.
‘The building has a variety of unique energy – you can definitely feel at times that something is watching you,’ he said.
In a slew of TikTok videos, which were recorded in the Savannah-based home – with the most popular of which racking up 12.8 million views – he claimed to have captured a ghostlike image of someone on camera in the home.
In the TikTok, a white shape is outlined behind a lamp – with Kalani says is the ‘side profile of a little girl’.
He said: ‘Now if you’ve seen the movie, you know this is an integral part of the story.’
Kalani explained that he was terrified, but proud to have captured such a striking image on camera.

Kalani added: ‘We had a variety of different ghost hunting tools go off, but catching the apparition on camera and the camera being turned on were two of my best catches to date.
‘Many people have reported strange experiences in the house even before knowing it was rumored to be haunted.
‘The claims of paranormal activity here were very high and I wanted to see it for myself.
‘It has always been a home, but the land that it’s on has had a dark past.
‘I’m unsure of the original construction date, but the home was purchased and renovated in the 1970s by the current owners’ father.
‘A variety of people and investigators have said they believe a little girl haunts the building – she served as inspiration for parts of the movie.’
TikTok users were stunned, with some claiming to spot the ghost, and others convinced there are more reasonable explanations.

‘That is dust that was reflected by light!’ another user insisted.
The house is currently home to the director of A Savannah Haunting, William Mark McCullough, and is not open to the public.
McCullough didn’t live in the house during his childhood, as his parents were divorced and he mostly resided with his mother. But when he went to visit his father, he previously spoke of ‘creepy’ occurrences he experienced in the property.

The film was released in April 2021 and follows the story of a family who loses their daughter and moves to Savannah
Speaking to Savannah Morning News, he revealed there were always ‘weird and creepy’ things occurring at the home, and said that it got ‘so bad’ he wouldn’t ‘walk upstairs in the middle of the day by myself.’
When McCullough’s business partner, Alexis Nelson, came to visit the house and experienced similar eerie events, she encouraged the director to write a script based on the very haunted home he grew up in.
The movie began filming in March of 2020, but when the COVID-19 pandemic began, production was postponed just days before the cameras were set to begin rolling.
However, in August, the film was up and running, but not without new challenges that saw both cast and crew members becoming increasingly more terrified due to experiences occurring within the haunted home.
The film wasn’t able to hire extras because the budget couldn’t cover the amount of COVID testing that had to be regularly done, so the crew often acted as extra.
But when both the cast and crew began noticing spooky occurrences such as tools disappearing, lights going on and off, and even things reaching out and grabbing them, it presented an even greater obstacle for McCullough as he didn’t want to lose his cast or crew, but the movie director noted that it brought an extra touch of authenticity to the set.
When production came to halt once again due to COVID, the team decided to film a documentary about the history of the spooky home.

But, as more and more experiences were brought up, several crew and cast members threatened to quit the film because of the creepy events that had occurred inside.
Luckily, the ‘amazing’ actors and crew stayed on set, which McCullough said helped to get their ‘creative juices’ flowing.
Prior to filming, the team hired experts hunt down the spooky spirits and cleanse the home, but every investigator noted that there was a ‘multitude of things going on in the home, it wasn’t just one thing.’
While the experts studied the haunted home, they interviewed the movie director and his siblings about their personal experiences.
TikTok users were stunned, with some claiming to spot the ghost, and others convinced there are more reasonable explanations
And since the siblings had never shared their stories with each other, they were shocked to learn they experienced similar occurrences.
‘Everyday I would walk outside to check the mail and the TV would be on,.
‘I’d go in and turn it off and this happened for weeks. I finally unplugged the TV. The next morning I went out to check the mail and the TV was on again.
‘I go in there and it was unplugged, so I threw the TV away. My brother tells a story of when he was there as a teenager, the same TV kept coming on and on.
‘He never had an issue with unplugging it, but it’s interesting that that exact same thing happened to both of us, separated by about ten years,’ the movie director said to Savannah Morning News.
