According to legal documents, the Angel Has Fallen star claims that he was thrown from his motorcycle in October of 2017 after the other driver ‘negligently pulled her vehicle off the curb.’

He alleges that she then ‘cut across lanes of traffic directly in front of him’ in her Mercedes Benz.

The move apparently left Butler no time to hit the brakes so he ended up crashing into the woman’s driver’s side which propelled him off his Triumph motorcycle.

Gerard claims he suffered ‘catastrophic injuries’ as a result of being run off the road and lost millions of dollars during ‘the busiest period’ of his career.

‘It made me really appreciate how precious life is,’ Butler told Entertainment Tonight after the accident, ‘because I could have landed any number of ways that would have taken me out.’

The leading man, who will soon be seen in his latest action film Plane, described ‘flying through the air’ and then smashing into the ground.

‘I have five fractures in my right foot alone,’ Gerard said to ET. ‘A bunch of stupid stuff, a torn meniscus, but I’ll be fine.’

In the settlement offer, which was obtained by The Blast, Butler reportedly offered to drop the lawsuit in exchange for $5.25 million.

‘I’m lucky to be here,’ the star said during an appearance on The Talk in 2017. ‘I went 33 feet through the air.’

The defendant reportedly has a few weeks to decide if she will take Butler’s offer, but if she refuses, the Machine Gun Preacher star will go to court next month and press for a trial.
