Fans have praised Cody Simpson on his performance of the National Anthem at the 2022 Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old returned to the stage to perform the National Anthem in front of the nation after a long break from his singing career.

Cody told Daily Mail Australia on Monday, that singing at the Melbourne cup is an ‘immense honour’.

‘It’s the first time I’ve ever done it, I couldn’t be asked to do something more prestigious.’
