An explosion at a doner kebab shop in western Turkey on Friday killed seven people, including three children, according to officials.

The governor of Aydin province told Turkish broadcaster CNN Turk that five others were injured, with one of them in critical condition.
Governor Huseyin Aksoy said initial testimonies from a restaurant worker suggested there was a leak in a cooking gas canister, leading to an explosion at around 3:35 p.m local time.

Reporters also said there was a fire following the explosion in the restaurant in the Nazilli district of Aydin. Footage showed fire trucks and ambulances at the scene.
Television images showed the charred remains of the two-floor restaurant, which had its windows and doors blown off by the explosion.

Another shows a firefighter at the bare windowframe on the first floor helping with the operation.
Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, Bekir Bozdag, tweeted: ‘The person who allegedly caused the explosion was taken into custody.
‘May our Lord not let such painful events happen to our people and our country again.’
