Actress Evan Rachel Wood’s girlfriend Illma Gore has denied accusations she coerced a woman to accuse Marilyn Manson of assault.
Manson is suing West World star Wood and Gore for defamation over what he calls ‘malicious’ and ‘false’ sexual abuse allegations which ‘derailed his successful music, TV and film career.’
Wood, 34, has claimed Manson ‘brainwashed and manipulated her into submission’ and ‘started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.’
Manson’s attorney, Jackson Trugman, said in late September in court Gore used an allegedly forged FBI letter to recruit other women into accusing his client of abuse.
Gore, in newly-filed court documents, denied Manson’s claims and said she was reaching out to his exes and other women for a documentary, Phoenix Rising.

Gore, in newly-filed court documents, has denied Manson’s claims and said that she was reaching out to both his exes and other women who faced domestic violence for a documentary, Phoenix Rising
The two-part series that premiered in March on HBO details Wood’s claims of Manson’s abuse and lobbies for the passage of the Phoenix Act, which would extend the statute of limitations for domestic violence cases in California.
A visual artist, Gore said there is ‘no evidence of a single woman’ being coerced into accusing Manson and added that she told any women who came forward that they were under ‘no pressure,’ according to Radar Online.
She claimed that Manson is simply ‘distressed’ from the several lawsuits and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department investigation into the ‘Antichrist Superstar’ singer.
Gore does not address Manson’s counter-claim that Wood and Gore were helping to distribute a fake FBIÂ letter that accused the rocker of being under investigation for sexually abusing women.Â
Wood denied the accusation, saying in a written declaration that she ‘did not circulate the false FBI letter.’
But Trugman disputed her denial, telling LA Superior Court Judge Teresa Beaudet, ‘It would be improper to conclude just from Miss Wood’s declaration that she didn’t not circulate this letter.’

Judge Beaudet continued the hearing to December 1 and ordered Gore to submit to questioning from Manson’s attorneys in a deposition to be held by October 27.
In his lawsuit, Manson, 53 – real name Brian Warner – claims that in their alleged FBI letter forgery, they impersonated an FBI agent to distribute the letter to ‘create the false appearance’ that Manson’s alleged victims and their families were in danger.
The performer claims the pair created a fake email address to make it look as if Manson, 53, sent her ‘illicit pornography’.
He also accuses them of recruiting, coordinating and pressuring women into making false accusations of abuse against Manson.
And he alleges that Gore hacked into his computer, phone and email account, obtaining his passwords and social security number.
He claims she used the information she obtained from his accounts to ‘orchestrate and promulgate false accusations’ against him.
Wood, 34, has said that Manson ‘brainwashed and manipulated her into submission’ and that he ‘started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.’
She also claimed the musician ‘coerced [her] into a commercial sex act under false pretenses’ and ‘essentially raped [her] on-camera’.

And she detailed her allegations of abuse in a two-part HBO documentary called Phoenix Rising.
Manson is suing Wood and Gore for defamation, emotional distress and ‘impersonation over the internet,’ among other charges and seeks damages of an unspecified amount ‘to be determined at trial,’ as well as ‘an order enjoining Wood and Gore from engaging in further wrongful conduct’ towards him.
The suit claims Wood, with the help of Gore, fabricated her allegations against Manson in effort to ‘provide more manufactured content’ for Phoenix Rising, which both women worked on.
Wood’s attorneys have called Manson’s defamation suit ‘meritless’, and an example of the retaliation Manson long threatened Wood with if she spoke out about his abuse.
LA County Sheriffs have been working on possible criminal charges against Manson.
But controversial Los Angeles district attorney George Gascon said last week that his office needs more evidence before they can consider those charges – despite the sheriffs’ team working for 19 months to present a dossier.

The Sheriff’s investigation involves sex assault and domestic violence allegations against the singer, dating from 2009 to 2011.
Yet despite almost two years of work, Gascon’s office called the evidence compiled against Mansion only ‘partial.’
‘Once we receive everything, experienced prosecutors will carefully and deliberatively review everything that has been submitted prior to making a filing decision,’ the DA said in a statement.
‘This review will take some time but rest assured our office takes these allegations very seriously.’
The LA Sheriff’s investigation included a November search of Manson’s home in West Hollywood, where media devices and other items were seized.
The statute of limitations for rape in California is 10 years, so any charges may depend on the type of offense and how long ago it happened.
Authorities have not identified the women involved, but several have publicly alleged that they were physically, sexually and emotionally abused by Manson around the time of the incidents under investigation, and some have filed civil lawsuits.
They include Game of Thrones star Esmé Bianco, whose lawyer said she also gave interviews to law enforcement.
British-born Bianco alleges that she was raped and subjected to sleep deprivation and forced labor after Manson offered to help her obtain a work visa.
Manson’s legal team has called the criminal allegations against him ‘provably false.’
