Emma Corrin looked chic as she arrived at a screening of Lady Chatterley’s Lover during the 66th BFI London Film Festival at the BFI Southbank on Friday.

The actress, 26, wore a sheer blue mini dress which she teamed with a pair of tights in a darker shade of the same colour.

Her naked arms and shoulders were left exposed to the air as she posed on the red carpet, with the star opting for a pair of black shoes with kitten heels.

Her bleached blonde pixie style hair was combed forward and she had a sultry look on her face before heading into the screening to take her seat.

The screen star, who plays Lady Chatterley in the Netflix film, wrapped up in a silky black double breasted jacket as she left her hotel in the UK capital ahead of the screening.  

Coming to selected UK cinemas on 25 November and on Netflix from 2 December, the book and film tell a radical love story and portrait of a woman learning to be in control of her own body and her own desire.

But as their affair becomes the subject of local gossip, Connie faces a life-altering decision – follow her heart or return to her husband and endure what Edwardian society expects of her.

She added a touch of further glamour to her look by wearing a gold statement necklace which she teamed with some bold drop earrings and a chunky set of bracelets on both wrists.

Elsewhere, Jack O’Connell, 32, who plays Oliver Mellors, looked dapper in a black suit which he wore with a cream shirt which was left open at the collar.

With the text of Lady Chatterley’s Lover notoriously banned at the time of its original publication in 1928, Lady Chatterley is seen to be fighting the constraints of class and status to find her own freedom.

The film is directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, 39, with Joely Richardson, 57, playing the character of Mrs. Bolton in the feature. The actress played Lady Chatterley in the BBC serial of the same name in 1993.

Matthew Duckett is also appearing as Sir Clifford Chatterley in the flick which will be released in cinemas on Friday 25 November and on Netflix on Friday 2 December.

The logline for the film reads: ‘Marrying Sir Clifford Chatterley, Connie’s life of wealth and privilege seems set as she takes the title of Lady Chatterley.

The last film adaption of Lady Chatterley’s Lover was in 2015 and featured Borgias star Holliday Grainger in the title tole, Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden as her gamekeeper lover and Happy Valley’s James Norton as her husband.

However, after its release, some viewers complained that there wasn’t enough nudity, despite shirtless scenes from Madden, with some taking to Twitter to call it ‘tame’.

In the 2015 adaptation, Lord Chatterley grants his wife a divorce so she can marry Mellors. But in the novel he refuses and Constance goes to live with her sister.

Other adaptions include the 1993 BBC series which starred Sean Bean and Joely Richardson and was much steamier.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover was also brought to the big screen in 1981, with Sylvia Kristel and Nicholas Clay having leading roles.

Lawrence’s book was first published in Italy in 1928 and subsequently banned in Britain, before becoming the first novel to be tested under the 1959 Obscene Publications Act for frequent use of the word ‘f***’ and its derivatives.

A full unexpurgated edition was finally released in 1960 following a six-day trial at the Old Bailey in which publishers Penguin was prosecuted for obscenity.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover is set for release in cinemas on Friday 25 November and on Netflix on Friday 2 December.
