‘We’ll always be joined at the hip!’ Eamonn Holmes pays heartfelt tribute to his late mother Josie on his birthday just one day before she would have turned 94 – weeks after her death
Eamonn Holmes paid a heartfelt tribute to his late mother on his 63rd birthday on Saturday, the day before she would have turned 94.
The television presenter announced mum Josie had died at the age of 93 last month before she was laid to rest in Belfast.
And this weekend Eamonn took to Instagram to share a picture of himself with his parent in which he could be seen sitting with his arm around her.

He wrote: ‘So my Birthday today and Mum’s tomorrow. She passed away just 2 weeks short of her 94th but we shall always be joined at the hip. Sagitarians. Always too alike.’
Eamonn was sent well wishes and messages of condolences from his followers, including fellow television presenter Carol Vorderman, who commented: ‘What a lovely picture and always together with her at this time,’ while actress and Loose Women panellist Denise Welch wrote: ‘Same day as my late mum.’

He wrote along with the photo: ‘My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon. She’s at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation. Â
‘We loved and will miss her so much. Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye. Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy x.’

Journalist Eamonn has previously opened up about his relationship with his mum as he branded her his ‘hero’.
The former This Morning presenter told how Josie’s mind was still ‘sharp as a tack’ and praised her for making him ‘the man I am’.
He also reflected on his relationship with Josie, lived in his hometown of Belfast, after the Queen’s death. Â
Eamonn said: ‘No matter how much you prepare for the death of a parent or how much you think you’re prepared it’s still comes as a shock.
‘I think with the Queen this is how it’s hit me and a lot of the nation, we’ve all known [that she’s been unwell] but it’s still a shock.’
