Mr Clifton said his younger sister had always acted like she was the oldest and supported everyone in the family.

‘She is our rock but now I’ve got to be everyone else’s rock,’ he said.

‘She’s the most beautiful person you’ll ever meet.’

Ms Miller was due to find out the sex of her second child next week.

Mr Clifton told reporters on Wednesday outside the hospital that his sister and her unborn baby were ‘very unlikely’ to survive.

‘They are going to keep monitoring her brain. If it keeps swelling, it’s going to stop the blood going to her brain, you’re going to end up brain dead, and once that happens… the baby will die (too),’ he said.

‘The baby is too young to come out.’
