Andre Bing, the Walmart gunman who massacred six people inside the Virginia store where he worked had a manifesto on his phone – where he revealed he was upset about a change in his employment status
A devastated friend of one of the Walmart mass shooting victims has branded the killer an ‘evil’ man who ‘pre-planned’ the slayings – by writing down a kill list of his co-workers and ranting about them in a paranoid suicide note.
Ronald Johnson, 49, paid tribute to his friend Brian Pendleton, 38, who was one of the six people murdered by Andre Bing during the superstore massacre in Chesapeake, Virginia on Tuesday.
Johnson, who previously worked at the same Walmart and lives in the Chesapeake area, said he considered Brian a ‘brother’ and had also met 31-year-old Bing – who he claims was ‘targeting managers’ at the company.
He told DailyMail.com he had known Pendleton for more than 15 years and that he was a ‘wonderful’ and ‘funny’ man who did ‘anything for anyone’ – adding that his family is ‘hurting’ from the shooting.
During his killing spree the manager shot dead Pendleton, Randall Blevins, Lorenzo Gamble, Kellie Pyle and Tyneka Johnson – whose name was circled on a kill list of co-workers found by DailyMail.com outside his home.
He also killed 16-year-old Fernando Chavez-Barron, known to loved ones as Fernando Jesus, who had just started working as a restocker part-time. It was his first job. A vigil was held for him on Thursday.

Four people who were shot survived the attack and remain in the hospital, including Jalon Jones and Jessica Wilczewski. Another survivor, Blake Williams, 23, is on a ventilator, and clinging to life, according to his family.
Wilczewski said she was allowed to flee by the killer – who told her ‘go home Jessie’ after shooting dead other colleagues.
In a paranoid and rambling suicide note, Bing branded his colleagues as ‘idiots’ who looked at him with ‘twisted grins’.
The disgruntled murderer claimed Walmart staff mocked him and compared him to ‘Jeffrey Dahmer’, as well as creating a ‘secret code’ to ridicule him.
But Johnson rubbished these claims and said Brian would never ‘joke with someone if they didn’t want to be joked with’ and was not the type to be accused of picking on anyone.
He told DailyMail.com: ‘Brian was family, I loved him like a brother. He would give you the shirt off his back if you had it, he would laugh with you. He wanted to see his family be on top, he would do anything for anyone. Brian loved the neighborhood, he was dedicated to his job.
‘He would only talk good about his co-workers, he never had a big altercation with anyone over that job. I used to call him black budda, with the braids.’
The suicide note – which is headlined ‘Death Note’ by the gunman Andre Bing – was found on the killer’s phone after the mass shooting and released by Chesapeake police on Friday
In the rambling, paranoid note, Bing claimed his co-workers gave him ‘evil, twisted grins’
Bing ended the note, saying: ‘My God forgive me for what I’m going to do …’
Johnson was also quick to dismiss any attempts to blame Bing’s actions on the state of his mental health.
‘This is not a mental health issue, he said. ‘Everyone that has mental health doesn’t go out and kill innocent people. He let somebody go, he could have let them all go. It was premeditated.
‘Sometimes you have to accept that you have good people and evil people. To me this was an evil act, so I wouldn’t blame it on mental health.
‘The shooter said they compared him to Jeffery Dahmer. He was nothing like him,’ he added.
The rambling suicide note, headlined ‘Death Note’, was found on Bing’s phone after the mass shooting and released by Chesapeake police on Friday.
Bing appeared offended by the comparison to Dahmer and claimed: ‘I would never have killed anyone that entered my home’.
The cannibalistic serial killer was the subject of a recent Netflix documentary ‘Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’.
Bing also described his colleagues as ‘idiots with low intelligence’ who ‘harassed, tormented and mocked’ him with ‘evil twisted grins’.
Four people who were shot survived the attack and remain in the hospital, including Jalon Jones and Jessica Wilczewski. Another survivor, Blake Williams, 23, is on a ventilator, and clinging to life, according to his family.
Authorities confirmed Bing legally bought the 9mm handgun used in the killing on November 22, the day of the killings, and that he had no prior convictions.
The FBI confiscated a box of ammunition and a box, receipt and other paperwork from his $300k property on Wednesday.
Following a vigil on Thursday, City of Chesapeake posted this picture on Twitter to confirm the name of the juvenile victim as 16-year-old Fernando Chavez-Barron
Police have identified five of the six victims killed during a mass shooting at a Virginia Walmart Tuesday, hours after naming the disgruntled manager who carried out the killing. The sixth deceased victim was a 16-year-old boy, the city said. His name and photo were withheld due to his age. The victims range in age from 16 to 70
Lorenzo Gamble and Kellie Pyle were also murdered by Bing
It comes after DailyMail.com revealed the shooter had dumped a list of those who he wanted to kill in the trash outside of his three-bedroom property.
The list, found by DailyMail.com, shows the names of 18 fellow supermarket employees circled.
Johnson added: ‘Andre had an issue with certain people that he should have dealt with. Do I believe there is harassment with managers – sometimes, but that doesn’t give you the right to kill someone.
‘When you go so far as to making a list for what you are going to do you are pre-planning this. And you were targeting managers, because if he wasn’t then the young lady that he let go would be dead if it was all mental health.
‘He knew what he was doing. What he did was despicable. So I can’t agree with what that he said in that note.
‘I used to speak to him when I went into Walmart. I worked there years ago, so I built relationships with the people and I would go in most days. My wife worked for that Walmart, and she could have been one of those killed – because he took his anger out on everyone.
‘Andre had a beard and I would say I like your beard game and all he would do is smile and walk by and that was it.’
The 31-year-old shooter threw the list away along with screenshots of surveillance footage dating back to October. The list included details about what shifts his co-workers were on and in which department they were working, as well as what time they would be on a break

The mother of Jessica Wilczewski told DailyMail.com she is still processing Bing’s motives, after his paranoid suicide note was revealed.
Briana Tyler’s grandmother added: ‘She is going to have to live with this for the rest of her life. She saw her friend be shot through the neck, she will be seeing that every day. I don’t know if she’s seen the note but she is still processing it all.’
Before carrying out the horrific massacre, Bing, 31, threw his kill list away along with screenshots of surveillance footage dating back to October. The screenshot shows a person dressed in black walking into the Walmart shortly before midnight.
The list left discarded next to the image included details about what shifts his co-workers were on and in which department they were working, as well as what time they would be on a break.

His suicide note reveals the motive behind the slayings and shows Bing was planning to kill those he felt had been laughing behind his back.
The note also said that he felt he had ‘remained strong’ through the torment, but his dignity was ‘completely taken away beyond repair’ after his phone was ‘hacked.’
A former colleague of Bing previously claimed he was ‘paranoid’ the government was watching him – adding that he had taped over the camera of his phone because of his fears.
