Ralphie the so-called ‘demon dog’ has been adopted for a fourth and hopefully final time after being sent to a six-week behavioral correction course and finding what seems like the perfect new home.
The French bulldog, who previously went viral after being described by an upstate New York animal shelter as a ‘fire-breathing demon,’ has found his hopeful forever home on the fourth try.
In a recent Facebook post, the Niagara SPCA said they received more than 700 applications to adopt Ralphie, the cute but naughty Frenchie.
The group eventually settled on a man they called Ralphie’s ‘perfect adopter,’ named Jason, who trains dogs professionally for the Department of Energy in Tennessee.
Ralphie will join Jason’s pack of other dogs, which includes a Dachsund, a German shepherd, and another Frenchie.

Now, on his fourth adoption, Ralphie appears to have found a match in Jason, a Tennessee dog trainer. Here, Ralphie enjoys a bagel in his new life
Although the shelter originally specified that the troubled pup should go to a home without other dogs, they said that through training, Ralphie was able to overcome his ‘reactivity around other dogs.’
After his third adoption failed, he was sent to a six-week boarding and training program to iron out some of his most significant behavioral kinks.
Jason, explained the SPCA, is ‘uniquely qualified’ to care for Ralphie because two of his other dogs also had bite histories prior to joining his household.
Jason will provide Ralphie ‘with structure, and give him an outlet for all that Frenchie energy,’ wrote the shelter. ‘He dedicates his life to dogs and that’s what makes him a perfect match for Ralphie.’
‘We wish our tiny, reformed terror all the best and we look forward to hearing about all of his adventures,’ read the post.Â
Jason has already created both an Instagram and a Facebook page for Ralphie, so that supporters can follow his journey as he adjusts to his new home and life.
his new owner has already posted several Ralphie updates including one of the little pup enjoying a bagel, and one of him going on a hike.Â
The previously problematic pup, who was previously branded as ‘a terror in a somewhat small package,’ went through three owners in quick succession before the shelter decided to take action.
The trainer who whipped the small pup into shape wrote that ‘Ralphie is a very strong willed dog but in the right hands will make an awesome companion.’
He was described by the trainer as ‘athletic, super treat motivated and kind of a fun guy.’Â

Ralphie prepares to be adopted for a fourth and hopefully final time
Ralphie shot to fame in January after becoming the subject of a viral Facebook post advertising his adoption status.
The animal shelter described him as a ‘fire-breathing dragon’ who is not exactly ‘man’s best friend.’
‘Ralphie is a terror in a somewhat small package. What could go wrong with a 26lb dog, right? We’re sure you’re thinking: my ankles will be just fine. We’d caution- proceed at your own risk,’ the nonprofit animal agency wrote.
According to the post, Ralphie is best suited for a home with the ‘Mother of Dragons’ or any adult home with no other animals.
The post caught the attention of thousands of Facebook users who were stopped in their tracks when the agency said it could not ‘sugar coat’ the animal’s demeanor.Â
‘We don’t actually have too many nice things to say so we’re just going to come out with it,’ the post from the Niagara SPCA read.Â
It stated that one may look at the pup and think he looks sweet and innocent, but that it is simply not true.Â
‘At first glance, he’s an adorable highly sought-after, young dog. People should be banging down our doors for him. We promise you, that won’t be the case,’ it read.Â
The nonprofit said Ralphie seems to think boundaries and rules do not apply to him and that his ‘cute face got him whatever he wanted’ in his first home.Â
The Niagara SPCA said his relationship with the first owner was ‘built on the premise that Ralphie was the boss.’

Jason will provide Ralphie ‘with structure, and give him an outlet for all that Frenchie energy,’ wrote the shelter. ‘He dedicates his life to dogs and that’s what makes him a perfect match for Ralphie.’Â

Ralphie was eventually enrolled in a $6,000 behavioral training course to correct some of his most objectionable tendenciesÂ
Ralphie was taken to board and train but was eventually rehomed.
In his second placement, the French bulldog was brought to the shelter because he was not getting along with the other dog in the family home.
‘Two weeks into this new home and he was surrendered to us because ‘annoys our older dog,” the nonprofit wrote in the post.Â
‘What they actually meant was: Ralphie is a fire-breathing demon and will eat our dog, but hey, he’s only 26lbs,’ it continued.
