David Beckham stunned his ‘oldest fan’ with a video message this week which was played during a surprise ‘Appreciation Day’ party in honour of her favourite footballer. 

102-year-old Mona Hurry was gobsmacked after carers at Castor Lodge Care Home in Peterborough secretly organised the event, which even saw them wearing Beckham masks.

In the message David sent his love to ‘incredible’ Mona and thanked her for following his career.

He said: ‘Hey Mona, I just wanted to send you a message because everybody at Castor Lodge, all of the staff and of course your daughters, have said what an incredible lady you are’. 

Before adding: ‘I also want to say a personal thank you because I know you’ve followed my career and I know you’re a huge football fan’.

Mona who was a code breaker during the Second World War, is such a fan she even has a cardboard cut out of David in her room.

Gushing about him to The Mirror she said: ‘He doesn’t have airs and graces’.

Care Home manager Laura Mills, who helped to arrange the event and surprise message, said: ‘Mona adores David Beckham and loves to talk about him. She always says what a special, lovely and charitable man he is.’

It comes after David and daughter Harper enjoyed a family pizza night with BFF Tom Brady in Miami on Thursday – as the NFL star continues to move on from his divorce from Gisele Bundchen.

David looked in good spirits as the Beckham and the Brady brood joined forces at Miami Slice pizzeria for a night of pizza making.

Sharing a snap of himself, Harper, Tom alongside daughter Vivian, 10, the England legend wrote: ‘Daddy’s and there [sic] daughters’.
