D.L. Hughley has hit back at Mo’Nique after the comedienne complained that she was supposed to be the headlining act at a comedy gig in Detroit.

In her set, Mo’Nique, 54, called Hughley, 59, out by name, as she felt slighted she wasn’t the clear headlining act for The Comedy Explosion show on Sunday night, which also featured comic Aida Rodriguez and was hosted by Josh Adams.

Hughley, in response, shared a frame of Mo’Nique from the 2009 movie Precious in an Instagram post addressing her tirade.

‘Oprah was the problem, Tyler Perry was the problem, Charlamagne was the problem, Steve Harvey was the problem, Lee Daniels was the problem, Netflix was the problem… Now it’s MY turn,’ Hughley said. ‘At some point it can’t be everyone else, IT’S YOU!! Lesson learned … I wonder who’s next …’

The Los Angeles native said he ‘didn’t have anything personal against Monique’ heading into Saturday’s show, and said she veered off-course in her comedy set in complaining about her placement on the show.

‘People paid a lot of money to laugh, not hear about your contract,’ he said.

Hughley added, ‘Apparently, the role you played in PRECIOUS turned out to be an autobiography,’ in reference to the 2009 film in which she won an Oscar playing the role of Mary, the mercurial, abusive and manipulative mother of the titular character.

‘ANSWER ME THIS…. WHEN HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE “HEADLINER” AT THE BOTTOM AND MENTIONED LAST?’ he said, later adding the hashtags, #TeamDL and #talktoyourpeople.
