News of the attack was first revealed by a caller on WA’s Radio 6PR who claimed the reptile had ‘leapt out’ of the water and grabbed one of the men by the head.

He explained the two men were in a tinnie, crabbing near the falls, when the crocodile lunged at them.

The victim’s friend quickly grabbed a knife and stabbed the crocodile in the head as it bit the man, according to the caller.

He claimed the victim was not seriously injured.

It’s unknown what the victim’s current condition is.

The Royal Flying Doctor’s Service said it provided first aid advice to the pair over the phone.
