Courtney Love is giving her support to Johnny Depp amid the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star’s ongoing legal drama with ex-wife Amber Heard – saying he once saved her life by performing CPR when she overdosed at a nightclub.

In the video, which she shared to her Instagram page, Love also offers some sympathy to Heard in saying she was also once ‘the most hated woman in the world.’

The message comes as Depp continues to do battle with Heard in a Virginia courtroom, where he’s suing his former wife for $50 million over a 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post.

Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million in damages. She has accused Depp of sexually assaulting her in the aftermath of an alcohol fueled argument.

Love, 57, posted a series of videos on May 21 about how Depp once came to her rescue outside of his Viper Room nightclub in 1995 – just one year after her husband, the legendary Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, took his own life.

Depp apparently administered CPR after Love passed out. She said in her video: ‘I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly, but I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside The Viper Room with Sal.’

Love spoke about the incident in a 2006 interview with The Guardian in which said that she was across from The Viper Room in a limo when she was ‘off [her] f—–g head’ when she decided to go into the club.

After entering The Viper Room, Love said that she passed out. When she came to Love said Depp was there while adding: ‘And apparently someone was giving my CPR.’

At the time, Love’s daughter with Cobain, Frances Bean, was three years old.

Love said that after saving her life, Depp went on to become a part of her daughter’s life by inviting her to the see the first ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie

Love continued: ‘Johnny, when I was on crack and Frances was having to suffer through that with all these social workers, wrote her a four-page letter that she’s never showed me on her 13th birthday. He didn’t really know me.’

On Halloween night 1993, actor River Phoenix overdosed on a mixture of cocaine and heroin outside of The Viper Room. He was 23.

When the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies were released, Love said that Depp sent limo’s to her daughter’s school in order to bring her and friends to see the movies in a theater, Love said.

According to Love, ‘He did it a bunch of times. He gave her her own seat with her name on it. I’ve never seen those Pirates movies, but she loved them. You know, she said to me when she was 13, ‘mama, he saved my life’. And she said it again.’

Love told The Guardian in 2006: ‘I have nothing bad to say about Johnny Depp, never. I think he’s very smart, he’s a brilliant actor and he once saved my life.’

While in 2009, Love said in an interview that she was watching Depp in the movie ‘Public Enemies’ when she remembered the CPR incident. Love said: ‘I was going to die on a few occasions. Johnny Depp gave me CPR once. I was watching that movie where he plays Dillinger and I was like, ‘Motherf—-r, I never had myself any JD except CPR,’ according to Page Six.

Love went on to address Heard directly saying that she relates to the ‘Aquaman’ star. She said: ‘I’ve been the most hated woman in America. I’ve been the most hated woman in the world, before TikTok, and it’s really a lot of empathy for what that must feel like for Amber. F–k man. Can you imagine how that feels? Jesus.’

However, Love then turned on Heard, saying: ‘But if you use a movement for your own personal gain, and you inhabit queer feminist intersectional spaces, and you abuse that moment, then I hope justice gets served whatever it is.’

In another video, Love continued by saying: ‘Look, it’s not like anybody asked my opinion, and I’m sure you don’t. No one ever listens to what I know anyway. Harvey. Britney. What was it Lou Taylor said? ‘We don’t comment on aliens impregnating people and what Courtney Love says’. So who cares. Bye.’

In 2009, Love alleged that Britney Spears had been molested in her youth by her father, Jamie. At the time, Spears’ spokesperson Louise Taylor seemingly brushed off the allegations saying: ‘We’re not commenting on Courtney Love, or any aliens who might come to Earth to impregnate people.’

Love went on to further clarify her support for Depp saying: ‘I want to show neutral support for a friend. I don’t want to bully.’

She also said: ‘I’ve been bullied enough. I did not want to express my own bias, internalized misogyny.’

Love said that she did not want to contribute further to any online bullying and cited skills that she learned in recovery in helping her to admit when she is wrong. The singer added that: ‘We should all stop having fun with schadenfreude.’
