Coronation Street SPOILER: Amy struggles with the aftermath of her drunken rape as Aaron furiously insists he’s done nothing wrong

Amy Barlow will struggle with the aftermath of being raped by Aaron Sandford on Coronation Street next week, after the pair’s drunken night out took a dark turn.

After having a row with his girlfriend Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Aaron (James Craven) had non-consensual sex with Amy ( Elle Mulvaney ) in their flat while drunk.

The ITV soap will air the harrowing scenes next Monday which see Amy grappling with the aftermath of the rape while Aaron furiously denies he did anything wrong.

The pair meet up at Speed Daal for lunch to discuss the night before where Amy says she ‘was far too drunk to consent’ and struggles to remember what happened.

The disturbing scene saw the pair kissing in the shared flat before Amy undressed and admitted she was feeling sick and moved away from him.

Aaron continued to kiss Amy, who was unaware of what was going on, and made the decision for her to have sex.

Upcoming scenes will see Amy the morning after, waking up and feeling extremely hungover with zero memory of what happened and how she got into bed.

Aaron is left feeling wretched and hungover as well and tells Amy that the pair went too far and they should not have slept together.

Amy is left in shock at the enormity of his revelation and Aaron maintains he has done nothing wrong, as he tries to convince her she wanted it to happen.

Having made up with Summer, Aaron catches Amy on the street and begs her to forget about the drunken sex and they they are equally responsible.

Despite this, Amy knows he is lying to her.

When family, friends and then the police become involved in the shocking incident, ITV viewers will see the different reactions and understandings of non-consensual sexual activity as both teens battle with what happened that night.

The drama doesn’t stop there on Monday, as Fiz and Tyrone call home for a romantic lunch together only to find Hope has skipped school.
