Young families getting into the holiday spirit were forced to ‘run for their lives’ when a fireworks display went ‘rogue’ during Christmas carols.
Footage of the chaos shows children screaming as cracker rockets rained down from the sky into the crowd during a Christmas Carols event at Allambie Heights Oval on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Sunday night just after 9:30pm.
Daily Mail Australia understands and 11-year-old boy suffered burns to his chest and had to be rushed to the Royal North Shore Hospital. An eight-year-old girl also suffered a broken wrist in the carnage.

Several others were treated at the scene by paramedics as fire crews and ambulances descended on the scene.
‘The fireworks just went rogue and started shooting into the audience,’ Rachael Jackson who witness the drama unfold told Daily Mail Australia.
‘I was up the front with my young son and we just heard hundreds of kids and adults screaming and running for their lives.’
She said fireworks also started launching into a nearby nursing home across the street.
‘It’s a miracle nobody was killed,’ she said.

Another woman took to social media in the aftermath revealing that her daughter is now ‘traumatised’ by her harrowing experience.
‘My daughter was hit tonight and is still shaking from a state of shock!’ the mother said.
‘She’s got small bullet burns on her legs (so very minor in comparison) but she’s completely traumatised from what she’s seen!’
Police are now investigating the matter and SafeWork NSW have been notified.
