Chilling moment British tourists ran for their lives as they were chased by gunman who shot them in the street in Venice Beach

This is the horrifying moment two British tourists ran for their lives before being brutally gunned down in the street while on holiday in Los Angeles.

Security camera footage filmed outside a busy bar in tourist hotspot Venice Beach on July 30 shows the pair turning away and running after a man they had been arguing with pulled out a gun. 

The suspect sprints after them and opens fire from just a short distance behind, with one of the victims seen grabbing his chest. 

Shortly afterwards the gunman also shot his friend, leaving the pair seriously injured, before fleeing from the scene.

LAPD have now named the suspected gunman as Brandon Manyo Dixon and are hunting him for attempted murder. 

They describe him as armed and dangerous and urge members of the public to call 911 if they see him. 

Police have so far released few details of the victims, describing them only as tourists from the UK. 

They say the pair were involved in a verbal argument outside a packed bar just yards from the famous Venice Beach, with its popular attractions including Venice Boardwalk and Venice Muscle Beach.

The argument escalated into a physical fight, which then saw the suspect police have named as Brandon Manyo Dixon chase after the two Brits with a gun.

As the tourists fled for this lives, police say Dixon opened fire and shot both of them before fleeing from the the scene on foot.

In the video, one of the victims appears to grab his chest as if he has been shot from behind by the gunman, who is running just a short distance behind him.

LAPD say in a statement: Both victims sustained significant wounds from the gunshots and were hospitalized for their injuries.

Police said Dixon should be considered armed and dangerous , and anyone who sees him should call 911 for immediate assistance.

‘The suspect, the suspect’s friend, and two United Kingdom tourists were involved in a verbal argument outside a heavily populated bar,’ a statement read. 

‘The argument escalated into a physical fight and then turned violent when the suspect chased after both tourists with a gun. 

‘As the tourists ran away, the suspect shot the tourists and then fled on foot from the scene. 

‘Both victims sustained significant wounds from the gunshots and were hospitalized for their injuries.’
