Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham say the vision for their wedding came from Iman and David Bowie

They tied the knot in a star-studded Palm Beach ceremony last month, with the affair reportedly costing around $3.5m.

And following the lavish nuptials, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have revealed that their inspiration for the day came from David Bowie‘s 1992 wedding to supermodel Iman.

Admitting that her husband’s parents, David and Victoria Beckham, had an ‘iconic’ wedding of their own, Nicola explained that it didn’t take top spot for their inspiration.

During a post-wedding interview with Vogue, Nicola referred back to the Italian day between late rock legend David and his supermodel wife, citing it as their vision.

Noting David and Victoria’s 1999 wedding at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland, which featured four-month-old Brooklyn and his parents in matching gilded wedding outfits, the couple were asked whether this was the inspiration for their own day.

While admitting that it was an ‘incredible’ wedding, Nicola shared that it wasn’t the direction she and Brooklyn wanted to take.

She told the publication: ‘Their wedding was incredible and those pictures are iconic, but the wedding we were most inspired by was Iman and David Bowie’s’

And it’s not difficult to see from the snaps, with the connection between the two weddings abundantly clear through the pictures.

Nicola sported arm length gloves which sat in a similar way to those that Iman donned during her 1992 wedding, and while boasting differently cut necklines – the resemblance between the dresses was striking. 

Donning a similar tails suit to that of David’s back in 1992, Brooklyn seemingly channeled the musician with his Dior ensemble too.

Nicola also took inspiration from another icon, noting that her hair and makeup were to echo that of 90s supermodel Claudia Schiffer.

While they opted for a different look to that of Victoria and David’s back in the day, the couple did sport a matching ensemble for the first night of their weekend wedding celebrations.

Nicola shared with Vogue that they sported matching denim Dior ensembles – a look similar to that which David and Victoria would often don back in the ’90s.
