Crocodile drags a man into the water at a boat ramp in Queensland – before he miraculously manages to escape the reptile’s grip in the croc-infested waters

A man is lucky to be alive after he was attacked by a crocodile in a terrifying ordeal.

He was at a boat ramp on Bloomfield River near Cooktown in far north Queensland on Wednesday night when a ‘reasonably big’ crocodile lunged at him and dragged him into the water.

The man, 37, was bitten on the lower leg but was able to miraculously escape with the help of a local ranger who witnessed the harrowing ordeal.

Sadly, his dog was mauled to death in the attack.

The man was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition.

It’s understood the man was travelling around Queensland and had taken his dog to the boat ramp for a drink of water.

“The croc grabbed the man by the leg and dragged him in but he managed to get away from its grip and the dog also got away,’ Jabalbina Aboriginal community Josh Paterson told the Cairns Post.
