Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were back on the set of their still untitled film about how Nike, a fledgling athletic shoe company in the early 1980s, was able to pull off a Michael Jordan to an endorsement deal.

With the set headquartered in Los Angeles and shooting kicking off a little over a week ago, Affleck appeared to have just arrived for another day’s work when he was greeted by a PA (production assistant).

Around the same time, Damon had his head down, looking over his notes, as he walked from one section of the set to another, seemingly in preparation for the next scene on the docket.

On set: Matt Damon, 51, plays the role of Sonny Vaccaro, a maverick sneaker salesman who helped broker the deal with Jordan

Teamed up again: Ben Affleck and old friend Matt Damon were back on the set of their untitled film about Nike, and how the then fledgling athletic shoe company was able to land Michael Jordan to an endorsement deal in the mid-1980s

With a cigarette in one hand and an ice coffee in the other, Affleck was led where he needed to be for the day’s shoot by the PA.

The two-time Academy Award winner, 49, is doing double duty, serving as the film’s director and playing the role of Nike co-founder Phil Knight.

He kept it casual in the fashion department, while paying homage to his Massachusetts roots, by wearing a green t-shirt that read ‘Believe in Boston’ on the front and black pants.

The longtime leading man color-coordinated his tee with a pair of green and white sneakers, and kept his hair and full beard closely manicured.

Damon, 51, was preparing for his day on the set, with his head buried in his notes, which may very well be his lines from the script, dressed in a gray t-shirt and black pants.

Continuing on his walk behind-the-scenes in white sneakers, the acclaimed actor eventually hooked up with Affleck to go over some of the important details for the day.

For the sports marketing film, Damon portrays Sonny Vaccaro, the real-life man who, despite all the naysayers, brokered the deal with Jordan, even though more established shoe companies Converse and Adidas were in the mix.

It hindsight the deal with Jordan was the catalyst for launching the global, multibillion-dollar contemporary sneaker industry.

Like they did for their Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting, the two old friends teamed up to write the screenplay for the biographical drama film from an early script written by Alex Covenry.

As crews were seen scurrying for the next scene, Jason Bateman was also seen making his way across the set with some notes in hand.

Dressed in blue denim jeans with a black long-sleeve and matching sneakers, the actor plays Rob Strasser, a former Nike executive, who helped the company in its rise to prominence in the 1980s.

During the so-called ‘sneaker wars’ between Europe and the U.S., Strasser went to work with Adidas but tragically died from a massive heart attack in October 1993.

Filming only just started in early June, but as of now it’s unclear when the project will be released by Amazon Studios.
