Aussie woman reveals why it is better to travel alone and single – and why she doesn’t get jealous of couples on romantic getaways

An Australian influencer has revealed why she prefers travelling alone, saying visiting foreign countries without a partner makes you ‘hot, sexy and mysterious’.

Cassidy McGill, 27, who first found fame on Love Island Australia before gaining nearly 400,000 Instagram followers, has visited cities in the UK, Italy, Greece, Spain and France by herself.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, she wrote: ‘Being a female solo traveller is mysterious and hot and sexy.’

‘The world is your oyster. You have the opportunity to meet so many interesting  people [and] experience beautiful cities and countries,’ she added.

‘Solo travel is magical and invigorating, and I’m telling you once you start you’ll feel the energy to just naturally embrace it.’

Cassidy added she often asks strangers to take her holiday snaps because it’s a great way of meeting people.

It comes after Cassidy revealed she is seeing a therapist to help manage her mental health following her recent white-powder scandal.

The ex-reality star said in an Instagram post on Tuesday things had been ‘pretty rough’ for her lately, and admitted regular therapy sessions were helping her cope.

‘I’ve been focusing on dealing with weaknesses in my mental state that revealed themselves when I was at my lowest,’ she wrote.

‘I genuinely thought my mental health was in better condition. I’m in consistent therapy to make sure I can cope in the future,’ she added.

Cassidy said she had been targeted by hateful trolls recently and told them to stop.

‘I’m human, I made a mistake. Choosing to harass and bully a stranger online isn’t kind,’ she wrote.

Earlier this month, Cassidy issued an apology after an image of her holding a plate with white powder circulated on social media.

‘I made a mistake, which I do not take lightly. This behaviour is out of character and I am truly sorry to have let you all down,’ she said.

‘I am sorry to my friends, family, my team and the brands I represent.’ 

The white-powder photo was accidentally uploaded to Instagram by Cassidy before being deleted shortly afterwards.

In the image, she is seen grinning with her mouth and eyes closed as she holds a plate that appears to have two lines of a white substance on it, along with a small bag of powder.

Fans were quick react to the image on social media, with one writing: ‘That’s just disappointing.’
